Job summary

WW Clyde is seeking a Quality Control Lab Technician to perform sampling and testing of concrete, aggregates, and asphalt for projects, with emphasis on concrete testing in the Taylor, AZ area.

The role involves lab work, curing and strength testing of concrete specimens, and travel to pits, plants, and sites to collect samples, ensuring compliance with ADOT, ASTM, and AASHTO specifications.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required with ability to obtain certifications within 6 months.
• Willingness to learn lab testing equipment and procedures.
• Ability to operate lab equipment and maintain records accurately.

Responsibilities

• Receive, log, cure concrete cylinders and beams per ASTM/AASHTO requirements.
• Prepare and test concrete specimens for compressive and flexural strength.
• Perform fresh concrete testing: slump, air content, unit weight, temperature.
• Test aggregates: gradation, fineness modulus, specific gravity, moisture.
• Test asphalt samples for binder content, gradation and volumetrics.
• Support mix design development and verification testing.
• Travel to project sites to collect samples and split/reduce samples.
• Enter data into lab database and maintain records and storage.
• Calibrate, maintain, and clean lab equipment; ensure safety.
• Report results to Lab Supervisor and project teams; flag deviations.
