Job summary

WW Clyde is seeking a Quality Control Lab Technician in Safford, AZ to perform sampling and testing of concrete, aggregates, and asphalt for projects, with emphasis on concrete testing in the lab and some field sampling.

The role requires operating and calibrating lab equipment, recording data, and reporting results to supervisors and project teams. Travel to pits, plants, and sites is expected; candidates must obtain ACI certifications within 6 months.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Ability to obtain ACI certifications within 6 months of hire.
• Willingness to learn all lab testing equipment and procedures.
• Basic math and computer skills.
• Valid driver's license and insurable driving record.

Responsibilities

• Receive, log, and cure concrete cylinders and beams per ASTM/AASHTO requirements.
• Prepare and test concrete specimens for compressive and flexural strength.
• Perform fresh concrete testing including slump, air content, unit weight, and temperature.
• Test aggregate samples for gradation, fineness modulus, specific gravity, absorption, and moisture.
• Test asphalt samples for binder content, gradation, and volumetric properties.
• Support mix design development, trial batches, and verification testing.
