Job summary

W. Roberts Contracting, Inc. (CWR) is seeking a Quality Control Lab Technician to join our asphalt production team.

You will test and inspect road construction materials, including Hot Mix Asphalt (HMA) and Granular Base Course (GBC), and analyze data to ensure DOT and customer specifications are met. Must have 3–6 months of related experience, a valid Florida driver’s license, and CTQP Plant Level 1 and 2 certifications after 90 days.

Qualifications

• 3–6 months of asphalt production or QC experience preferred.
• Knowledge of asphalt testing procedures and industry standards preferred.
• Able to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing priorities.
• Must meet Florida MVR requirements and have a valid FL driver's license.
• Shift flexibility: days, nights (including 3rd shift) and weekends as needed.
• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.

Responsibilities

• Documentation and data control.
• Ensure asphalt products meet DOT, customer, and job specifications.

QUALITY CONTROL LAB TECHNICIAN

W. Roberts Contracting, Inc. (CWR) is a growing road construction company. We are seeking to fill a Certified Asphalt Quality Control Lab Technician for our local operations.

Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities:

• Understands test methods and procedures
• Responsible for the testing and inspection of road construction materials, paving techniques, and equipment being used, including but not limited to Hot Mix Asphalt (HMA) and Granular Base Course (GBC)
• Analysis of test data
• Corrective action to prevent non-conforming products
• Documentation and data control
• Ensures manufactured asphalt meets DOT, customer, and job specifications
• Assists in mix design development and changes in plant production
• Performs data collection and reporting
• Complies with all safety requirements
• Other duties as assigned

Requirements:

• Minimum of 3-6 months of experience in asphalt production or quality control strongly preferred
• Knowledge of industry standards and testing procedures for asphalt products preferred
• Must be able to work in a fast paced environment and adapt to changing priorities
• CTQP Plant Level 1 and 2 certifications required after 90 days
• High school diploma or equivalent preferred
• Must be able to work days, nights (including 3rd shift), and weekends as needed
• Able to complete all required paperwork efficiently
• Must be able to meet company MVR requirements and have a valid Florida driver's license
