Job summary

Tangent Technologies, LLC. is seeking a Quality Technician to assure deployment of quality systems and improve customer relationships. You will monitor quality indices, implement corrective actions, and contribute to the plant's financial health.

You will lead cross-functional teams, train staff on quality expectations, and drive improvements through data-driven analysis and problem-solving tools. GMP compliance is essential in daily operations.

Qualifications

  • Must be legally entitled to work in the US.
  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • Minimum of 2+ years’ experience in Quality.

Responsibilities

  • Assure a safe working environment for all employees targeting a zero-accident incident rate.
  • Leader of the Quality within the facility and owns the quality performance of the plant.
  • Organize and lead teams of cross-functional personnel to solve internal and external problems affecting customer relations and plant finances.
  • Enhance the workforce knowledge base of quality systems through training and coaching of employees.
  • Monitors standard work performance and enforcement of policies and procedures.
  • Achieves quality assurance objectives by communicating performance and preparing action plans; implementing standard work and corrective actions.
  • Minimizes customer claims and warranty costs by analyzing variances and initiating corrective actions.
  • Drive continuous improvement of quality assurance systems through audits and standard work.
  • Develops quality assurance action plans by risk assessment and hazard analysis.
  • Validates effectiveness of quality processes by product compliance and control chart monitoring.
  • Investigate customer complaints to root cause and develop corrective actions.
  • Engaged in product qualifications to meet internal expectations.
  • Ensure GMP and plant housekeeping; may lead the Plant Product Safety team as applicable.
  • Prepares quality documentation and reports from data and trends.

The Quality Technician Assures consistent deployment of established quality systems, drives improvements in customer relationships, monitor quality indices to assure they meet company / customer expectations, implementation of sustainable corrective actions, contribute to the financial wellbeing of the facility / company.

  • Organize and lead teams of cross-functional personnel to solve both internal and external problems which may be affecting customer relations and/or plant finances.
  • Enhance the workforce knowledge base of quality systems, objectives and expectations through training and coaching of employees, communication of job expectations.
  • Monitors standard work performance and enforcement of policies and procedures.
  • Achieves quality assurance operational objectives by communication of quality related performance, contributing information and analysis to strategic plans and reviews, preparing and completing action plans; implementation of operational standard work, identifying and resolving problems through established problem-solving tools, determining system improvements and implementing change.
  • Meets quality assurance financial objectives by minimizing customer claims and warranty costs, disposition of internal heldware, analyzing product variances to specifications, initiating corrective actions.
  • Drive continuous improvement of quality assurance systems through layered audits of the operation focusing on compliance to established policies / procedures and the application of standard work.
  • Develops quality assurance action plans by conducting a risk assessment of the operation for potential critical failure points and hazard analysis if applicable.
  • Validates effectiveness of quality processes by assuring product compliance to specifications, monitoring control charts for trends and/or out of control conditions -developing countermeasures, analyze statistical data summaries for indications of compliance issues, validate gauging and measurement systems.
  • Investigate customer compliant to root cause and develop corrective actions
  • Actively engaged in the efforts surrounding new / existing product qualifications to meet internal expectations.
  • Ensure maintenance of plant housekeeping and Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) to all internal and customer standards. If applicable, act as plant Product Safety team leader to assure compliance to safety standards along with relevant training.
  • Prepares quality documentation and reports by collecting, analyzing and summarizing information and trends including failed processes, stability studies, recalls, corrective actions, and re-validations.
Requirements

  • Demonstrate a broad knowledge of SPC and the applications within a manufacturing environment.
  • Multi-functional team leadership and project management
  • Ability to interpret data and develop countermeasures to solve problems.
  • Strong analytical and problem solving skills.
  • Minimum of 2 consecutive years within quality
  • Plastics experience a plus
  • Six sigma green belt, A3 or continuous improvement equivalent certification or above
  • Demonstrate computer proficiency with various software packages.
  • Ability to use color measuring device
  • Ability to identify defect and root causes
Education and Experience
  • Must be legally entitled to work in US

Mental/Physical Requirements
  • Standing, lifting, bending
  • Driving a forklift
  • Ability to lift 50 lbs.
  • Ability to operate basic shop equipment.
