Job summary

Apache Stainless Equipment Corporation in Wisconsin is seeking a Quality Control Inspector to inspect incoming raw materials, in-process items, and finished goods to ensure conformance with prints and specifications.

You will perform measurements with micrometers and dial calipers, verify ASME material compliance, and stop shipments when quality fails, while maintaining accurate records and reporting discrepancies.

Qualifications

• Up to 3 years of experience in Quality Control function in manufacturing environment.
• Proficiency in Microsoft EXCEL
• Ability to perform multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment to assure delivery requirements
• Clear communication (oral and written) skills
• Ability to keep accurate records
• Ability to follow documented procedures and standards
• Excellent time-management skills with the ability to work independently with little supervision

Responsibilities

• Receive and inspect incoming raw material.
• Inspect incoming parts from outside sub-contracted companies to ensure conformance with prints and specifications.
• Inspect items to be shipped for quality, including dimensional accuracy and appearance.
• Inspect parts in fabrication to confirm conformance to prints and project specifications.
• Inspect weldments in process for accuracy, weld quality and appearance.
• Inspect completed weldments to ensure conformance to prints and specifications.
• Verify hydrostatic tank tests or leak tests to ensure conformance with project specifications.
• Perform final inspection on items ready for shipments to ensure conformance and quality.
• Notify Director of Operations and engineering of discrepancies or deviations from prints and specifications.
• Sign packing slip requests when items are ready to ship.
• Stop any job from shipment if quality would be unacceptable to the customer.
• Inspect ASME raw materials and purchased items for compliance with ASME codes and proper identification.
• Inspect ASME work in process for proper handling and welding wire usage.
• Maintain up-to-date ASME forms and inspection reports.
• Read blueprints and interpret drawings.
• Use micrometers, dial calipers and other measuring devices to verify accuracy.
• Complete multiple tasks daily.
• Other duties as assigned.
