Job summary

Lexicon is seeking a Quality Control Inspector to join our team. The role offers multiple shifts (Day, Night, Weekend) with a 4-hour weekend bonus. Responsibilities include inspecting fabrication work, maintaining QC documentation, and overseeing welding procedures and certifications.

A safety-sensitive environment is emphasized. Candidates should have prior fitting and welding experience, blueprints reading ability, and strong math skills.

Qualifications

• Previous fitting and welding experience is required.
• Must be able to read blueprints and shop drawings and pass an inspector test.
• Must have excellent mathematical skills.
• High School or equivalent degree required.
• 5 years of experience in a steel fabrication shop environment.
• AWS certified welding inspector, ASNT level-II certification, and/or SSPC/NACE certification desirable.

Responsibilities

• Inspects all fabrication jobs to maintain quality levels per codes, standards, contract documents, and company QC procedures.
• Prepares detailed and thorough daily inspection reports.
• Monitor records on shop welders with their level of certification and monitor daily rod use.
• Assist in setting up, monitor and maintain welding procedures, bolting procedures and painting procedures required for projects.
• Provide feedback on questions related to quality and project requirements from shop employees.
• Overtime and regular, punctual attendance is required.
