Job summary

Lexicon is seeking a Quality Control Inspector to monitor fabrication quality across all projects. The role involves inspecting welds, reading blueprints, and maintaining detailed daily inspection records in a fast-paced shop environment.

Ideal candidates have welding experience and certifications, with strong math skills and the ability to work overtime as needed. Multiple shifts are available, including day, night, and weekend hours, with a weekend shift bonus.

Qualifications

  • Previous fitting and welding experience is required.
  • AWS certified welding inspector, ASNT level-II certification, and/or SSPC/NACE certification is desirable.
  • 5 years of experience in a steel fabrication shop environment.
  • Must be able to read and understand blueprints and shop drawings and pass an inspector test.
  • Must have excellent mathematical skills.
  • High School or equivalent degree required.

Responsibilities

  • Inspects all fabrication jobs to maintain the quality levels of work produced in accordance with applicable codes, standards, contract documents, and company QC procedures.
  • Prepares detailed and thorough daily inspection reports.
  • Monitor records on all shop welders with their level of certification and monitor daily rod use.
  • Assist in setting up, monitor and maintain welding procedures, bolting procedures and painting procedures required for projects.
  • Provide feedback on questions related to quality and project requirements from shop employees.
  • The ability to work overtime and regular, punctual attendance is required.

Quality Control Inspector - Physical Demands
  • Ability to lift 50 lbs. frequently and be able to climb 25 ft.
  • Must have ability to bend, stoop, push and pull frequently.
  • Requires occasional travel with overnight stays.
  • Exposure to temperature fluctuations and loud work environment.
  • Overtime and weekend work may be required.
  • All of the physical demands listed are essential functions.
