Job summary

WesTech in Ames, IA is seeking a Quality Control Inspector to support fabrication QC for water and wastewater equipment. You will perform dimensional, weld, and coatings inspections and generate conformance reports, ensuring adherence to project requirements and industry standards.

The role requires 3–5 years of inspection experience, AWS CWI certification, and the ability to travel domestically and internationally up to 75%. Strong communication and computer skills are essential.

Qualifications

• 3–5 years of related inspection experience.
• AWS CWI certification required.
• Working knowledge of AWS D1.1, D1.2, D1.6 and ASME IX.
• Able to read weld procedures, PQRs, and weld maps.
• Strong math, communication, and computer skills.

Responsibilities

• Review project documentation related to fabrication of equipment.
• Generate inspection reports to document conformance with project requirements.
• Follow QC procedures to ensure accuracy with current practices.
• Maintain and review quality documentation and procedures.
• Review documentation from inspection activities (trip reports, photos, punch lists).
• Coordinate with Applications Engineers, Project Management, Design, and others as needed.
• Assist supplier audits and negotiations with suppliers.
• Communicate product feedback to Product Managers.
• Travel to domestic and international supplier sites (50%–75%).
• Perform other duties as assigned.
