Job summary

Carrier Processing Equipment Group (CPEG) Buffalo LLC is seeking a dedicated Quality Control Inspector for our Tonawanda, NY facility. This onsite role focuses on inspecting, testing, and verifying product quality throughout material, in-process, and finished goods stages.

Responsibilities include documenting results, using gauges and templates, and maintaining compliance with ASME Code Pressure Vessel and Process Piping.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• Two-year college degree in related field or equivalent manufacturing experience preferred.
• 2- to 5-years quality control experience preferred.
• Experience with welding inspection and ability to obtain a CWI certification within 1 year of employment.
• Ability to read blueprints and P&ID.
• Prefer the ability to read electrical schematics and identify electrical components.
• Ability to read measurement devices such as rulers, micrometer and Vernier caliper.
• Working knowledge of ASME Code Pressure Vessel and Process Piping.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Rely on instructions and pre-established guidelines to perform the functions of the job.
• Proficient understanding of weights and measurements.
• Math skills including addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, fractions and decimals.
• Knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook; as well as Adobe Acrobat and Windows.
• Able to understand carry out detailed written or oral instructions.
• Able to manage several projects at one time with frequent interruptions.
• Able to function and concentrate in a busy, noisy environment.

Responsibilities

• Approve incoming materials by verifying specifications and tests; reject unacceptable materials.
• Approve in-process production by confirming specifications and communicating adjustments.
• Endorse finished products by confirming specifications and returning products for re-work.
• Document inspection results by completing reports and logs; input data into quality database.
• Utilize gauges, templates and other manufacturing aids to ensure specifications are met.
• Keep measurement equipment operating by following instructions and arranging repairs.
• Maintain a safe and healthy work environment by following standards and legal regulations.
• Update job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities; reading technical publications.
• Maintain working knowledge of ASME Code Pressure Vessel and Process Piping.
