Job summary

System One is seeking a Quality Control Inspector (Level 1) for the Orangeburg, NY area. This onsite contract-to-hire role runs on the 2nd shift (4:15p–2:45a) with 1st shift training initially.

You will inspect products, document QC results, report non-conformances, and support the lamination line with quality leadership. The ideal candidate has a minimum of 3 years in manufacturing QC, can read technical docs, uses inspection tools, and is proficient with Word/Excel.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years related experience in a manufacturing environment.
• Able to read and apply information from technical documentation and drawings.
• Must be able to use standard inspection equipment (calipers, gages, etc.).
• Proficient with Word and Excel at a basic level.

Responsibilities

• Perform QC inspection of products per in-house instructions.
• Complete QC documentation as defined by in-house procedures.
• Report non-conformances to Quality Assurance Management with internal reports.
• Provide QC leadership to laminator team.
• Verify labeling and line clearance activities per specs.
• Use IQS and Epicor systems for documentation and inventory tasks.
• Assist in cleaning production areas and checking material requirements.
• Perform additional duties as assigned by QC Leaders.

Job Title: Quality Control Inspector (Level 1)
Location: Orangeburg NY
Type: Contract To Hire
Compensation: $20-$22/hr
Work Model: Onsite – onsite
Hours: 2nd shift 4:15p to 2:45a with 1st shift training 6a to 2:30p for 2 weeks

Responsibilities

• Quality Control Inspection of products according to applicable in-house instructions.
• Completion of quality control documentation as defined by in-house instructions.
• Immediate reporting of all non-conformances observed as well as any compromises to quality to Quality Assurance Management including the creation and approval of Internal Reports and Dispositions as required.
• Provide quality leadership to laminator team.
• Verification and approval of product labeling as required by in-house instructions.
• Verification of Line Clearance activities as defined by applicable instructions.
• Sampling according to the client's sampling plans and instructions.
• Conduct process verification activities throughout the production line (from lamination through retail box packaging) as defined by in-house documentation.
• Inform Line Operators and/or Production Supervisor/Team Lead, and Quality Control Leaders of observed process deficiencies and product defects or abnormalities.
• Verify and approve the in-line print, label or sticker as instructed in the Test Specification.
• Utilize IQS system to confirm appropriate documentation and initiate changes of documents through the system as necessary.
• Utilize Epicor system as required for inventory management of products and materials.
• Assist in cleaning of the production areas and equipment as assigned.
• Verify job material requirements brought into the production areas.
• Perform additional duties as assigned by Quality Control Leaders.

Requirements

• Minimum 3 years related experience in a manufacturing environment, preferably in a quality role.
• Able to follow written work instructions.
• Ability to work under minimal supervision.
• High school diploma or equivalent; technical degree is a plus.
• Demonstrated ability to read, understand, and apply information contained on technical documentation, procedures, drawings, and basic geometric tolerances.
• Able to properly use standard inspection equipment (calipers, thickness gage, other gages, etc.).
• Basic computer skills using Word and Excel.
• Flexibility to work overtime.
• Must be able to speak, write and read English.
• Bilingual Spanish/English preferred.
• ASQ Quality Certification is a plus.
• Knowledge of ISO 9001 and ISO 13485 a plus.
• Knowledge of SPC a plus.
