Overview

Perform mechanical and electrical inspections as well as functional testing of complex electronic multi-integrated microwave assemblies and sub-assemblies using various test equipment, meters, microscopes and gauges during inspections; determine the proper sampling based on component specifications, inspection plans and or customer supplied requirements; performs work of low complexity.

Responsibilities
  • Perform well-developed level visual and dimensional inspections of purchased material, in-process and finished electronic components, assemblies and subassemblies for drawing requirements and workmanship.
  • Operate well-developed level mechanical and electrical measurement tools such as caliper, micrometers, tool gages, volt meters, LCZ meters, video microscopes and measuring microscopes, etc; ability to use X-Ray Fluorescence “XRF” analysis; perform solder-ability; operate manual Coordinate Measuring Machine “CMM” and plating test analysis.
  • May conduct incoming in-process and final inspection of classified devices with Security procedures and safety precautions.
  • Assist Quality and Production Engineers in investigations of processes related to quality issues.
  • Complete accurate records on paper and information system, including inspection reports, training records, equipment maintenance logs, continuous improvement initiatives and corrective action for continuous improvement.
  • Able to obtain/maintain internal inspection certifications.
  • Review supplier data for compliance to test parameters, requirements and specified standards.
  • Interface with customer source inspectors; maintain equipment, tools and workstation.
  • Participate in safety training and actively comply with safety policies and practices.
  • Improve and maintain 6S in your area, make suggestions for improvements.
  • Participate in Lean/Six Sigma activities in own work area as well as events for other areas to enhance cross-functional problem solving.
  • Collaborate in team meetings and activities, including Self Evaluation Team “SET” support as appropriate.
  • Provides general guidance on task completion, new skill acquisition and technical guidance to lower level associated within their own group.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.
Qualifications

MINIMUM:

  • Requires well-developed skills to perform all standard tasks within the technical area assigned.
  • 2-4 years of experience in quality/ manufacturing.
  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • This position requires access to technology, materials, software or hardware that is controlled by US export law. In order to be eligible for this position, you must be a "US Person" under US export laws (or eligible for approval under a U.S. Government export license).
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a security clearance.

PREFERRED:

  • An Associate Degree or Technical Certification.
  • Experience reading and understanding of specifications and inspection criteria.
  • Experience reading schematics and mechanical drawings and providing input into revisions, as needed.
  • Ability to apply proficient computer skills in the use of Microsoft Office and database applications (such as Agile).
  • Exposure to Enterprise-wide system, such as SAP, a plus; knowledge of Agile, a plus.
  • CMM programming.
  • GD&T certification.

SALARY RANGE:

$21.966/HR TO $33.90/HR; Full-Time (San Diego)

Applicable pay within the posted range may vary based on factors including, but not limited to, geographical location, job function of the position, education, and experience of the successful candidate.
