Job summary

Kelly Services is seeking a Quality Control Inspector II for a premier manufacturing client in Gurnee, IL. The role involves performing detailed visual, dimensional, and functional inspections to ensure adherence to quality plans, with duties spanning from raw materials to complex assemblies.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED required; prior experience in production, metrology, or quality inspection preferred.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to read and interpret instructions and data.
  • Proficiency with Windows-based software and basic math skills.

Responsibilities

  • Perform visual, dimensional, and functional inspections of raw materials, parts, and assemblies to ensure quality.
  • Independently inspect products at various production stages and document results.
  • Use test instruments and measuring devices to verify conformance with specifications.
  • Accept, reject, or rework defective parts and update records for traceability.
  • Review device history records and access quality systems as needed.
  • Communicate with manufacturing teams to implement corrective actions for nonconforming products.
  • Assist in training others on quality control processes.

Pay Rate: $23.00–$25.00 per hour (2 3 3 program)

12 hours Shift s: 6:45 pm to 7:00 am

What’s a typical day as a Quality Control Inspector II? You’ll be:

  • Performing intricate visual, dimensional, and functional inspections of raw materials, injection molded parts, and complex production assemblies/sub‑assemblies to ensure quality standards are met
  • Independently inspecting products at various stages of production, ensuring compliance with required quality plans
  • Using a broad range of test instruments, precision measuring devices, and electronic equipment to verify conformance with specifications
  • Accepting, rejecting, or reworking defective or malfunctioning parts, and accurately documenting inspection results for identification, labeling, and traceability
  • Reviewing device history records (DHR) for completeness and accuracy, and accessing customer quality inspection systems as required
  • Communicating with manufacturing teams and facilitating corrective actions for nonconforming products
  • Training other employees in quality control processes and procedures

This job might be an outstanding fit if you:

  • Have a high school diploma or GED and prior experience in production, metrology, or quality inspection
  • Possess excellent visual acuity and attention to detail for identifying fine features on small parts
  • Are comfortable using a Windows‑based PC and related software (advanced PC skills preferred)
  • Can effectively present information and respond to questions from managers, clients, and team members
  • Demonstrate strong problem‑solving skills and the ability to draw valid conclusions from data
  • Are able to read and comprehend instructions, visual aids, and correspondence in English
  • Can perform basic math operations, including addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, and interpret graphs
