Job summary

Belcan in Tucson, AZ is seeking a QA Inspector to perform inspections of products, materials, and assemblies across production stages, ensuring compliance with aerospace quality standards. You will collect statistical data, prepare inspection reports including FAIR IAW AS9102, and maintain records.

The role requires GD&T knowledge, use of measuring equipment, and the ability to follow established procedures with minimal supervision.

Qualifications

• Secondary certificate or high school diploma or equivalent.
• Vocational training or related experience is beneficial.
• 2+ years of relevant aerospace/electronics experience preferred.
• Ability to follow established job instructions and procedures with minimal supervision.
• Apply a systematic QA approach using existing procedures to solve technical issues.
• Knowledge of geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T), assembly drawings, parts lists, workmanship standards, standard inspection procedures, wiring diagrams and tolerances.

Job description

Conducts inspections of products, materials and components at various stages of the production process to ensure compliance with established quality standards

Participates in gathering statistical data from product and processes

Performs visual inspections of soldered connections, mechanical inspections of electronic and electro- mechanical assemblies and subassemblies

Visual inspections of soldered assemblies to IPC-A-610 standards, and harness assemblies.

Prepares and completes all necessary documentation for reporting acceptance/rejection of inspected and/or tested items

Identifies design, process or other inefficiencies and reports quality concerns and issues

Maintains Inspection records

Creates & reviews First Article Inspection Reports (FAIR) IAW AS9102

Performs Customer source inspection

Qualifications

A Secondary Certificate/High School Diploma or equivalent

Vocational training, apprenticeships or the equivalent experience in related field beneficial

2+ years of relevant experience (Aerospace and Electronics environments preferred)

Ability to follow established job instructions and procedures with minimal supervision

Able to apply a systematic QA approach while using existing procedures to solve a range of technical issues. Skilled at using measuring equipment as prescribed by job assignment

Must have knowledge of geometric dimensioning and tolerancing, assembly drawings, parts lists, workmanship standards, standard inspection procedures, wiring diagrams and be able to add tolerances using decimals, etc.

Technical knowledge of Aerospace standards for First Article Inspection Reports, AS9102
