Quality Control Inspector
Quality Control Aircraft Maintenance & Airworthiness
Location: Opa-locka, FL – Onsite
Industry: Aviation / Aerospace Services
Reports To: Quality Control Manager or Designee
WHAT YOU’LL BE DOING
- Participate in the company's Safety Management System (SMS) program
- Perform inspections in accordance with the Maintenance Program, Airworthiness Directives (ADs), Service Bulletins (SBs), and other applicable requirements
- Provide quality oversight for maintenance activities
- Perform preliminary, in-progress, hidden damage, and final inspections
- Perform special inspections as required
- Perform Required Inspection Item (RII) and Buy-Back inspections
- Perform receiving inspections to ensure parts and materials are legal, conforming, and applicable
- Ensure inspections and surveillance are performed as required during maintenance activities
- Verify the proper use of approved data, materials, tools, and test equipment
- Ensure maintenance activities meet required standards of workmanship
- Provide guidance and assistance to maintenance personnel regarding company policies, procedures, and documentation
- Perform required inspection functions during airframe and engine checks
- Perform Buy-Back inspections on major items or non-routine work
- Identify discrepancies that require corrective action
- Monitor maintenance activities to ensure proper technical data, forms, and acceptable methods are being followed
- Perform other duties as assigned by the Director of Quality, VP Quality & Safety, and/or Accountable Manager
WHAT YOU NEED
- Working knowledge and understanding of the duties, responsibilities, and authority associated with the position
- Current FAA Part 65 Certificate
- A&P rating and at least three years holding the rating if authorized to approve an article for Return to Service
- Five years of maintenance experience on different types of large aircraft with 10 or more passenger seats, with an air carrier or repair station
- Maintenance experience with the category and class of aircraft serviced by the company is preferred
- Training or thorough familiarity with the methods, techniques, and practices used to perform maintenance, preventive maintenance, or alterations
- Ability to understand, read, and write English
- Knowledge of FAA Part 145 Repair Station and Quality Control requirements
- Knowledge of applicable Federal Aviation Regulations
- Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Word, PDF, and Excel
- Ability to meet deadlines and deliver results in a timely manner
- Ability to learn and remain focused under pressure
- Excellent communication skills
EXPERIENCE WE VALUE
- Aircraft maintenance experience in an FAA Part 145 Repair Station
- Experience working with large aircraft
- Experience performing aircraft, engine, appliance, or component inspections
- Experience with RII and Buy-Back inspections
- Experience with Airworthiness Directives, Service Bulletins, and Maintenance Programs
- Experience identifying discrepancies and following up on corrective actions
- Experience with the category and class of aircraft serviced by Xtreme Aviation
