Job summary

Sam Carbis Solutions Group LLC is seeking a Quality Inspector to ensure products meet company standards through visual and dimensional checks. You will read prints, identify issues, and train the production team on QC measures.

Expect involvement in calibration, documentation, and occasional weld testing in a dynamic production environment. The role requires knowledge of measuring tools, print reading, and familiarity with QA standards.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Strong measuring and print reading skills.
  • Ability to read drawings/prints and interpret prints.
  • Familiarity with national QA standards and welding principles.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and work outdoors/indoors.
  • Valid South Carolina driver license.

Responsibilities

  • Perform visual and dimensional checks to verify standards are met.
  • Read and interpret drawings or prints.
  • Identify and troubleshoot potential problem areas in production processes.
  • Document inspection results and input data into quality database.
  • Provide weld tests as needed and train the production team on QC measures.
  • Follow calibration requirements and maintain measurement equipment.

Job description

This is a position that requires the ability to make sure all products are built to meet or exceed company standards. Personnel must demonstrate acceptable skills in tape measure reading, the use of protractors and squares, as well as other measuring devices or tools. They have basic knowledge of AWS welding standards and AISC building standards. They are good at documentation and able to see what’s beyond the print.PRIMARY JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:Included but not limited to:Perform visual and dimensional checks to verify standards are metRead and interpret any drawing or printIdentify and troubleshoot potential problem areas with any of the processes involved in productionFollow up with detailing for clarifications as neededDetermining the causes of product defects and offering advice on how best to correct the issuesRecording inspection results by completing reports, summarizing re-works and wastes and inputting data into quality databaseTraining the production team on quality control measures to improve product excellence and proposing improvements to the production processKeeping measurement equipment operating accurately by following calibration requirements and calling for repairsVerify welding procedures are being maintainedDocument all changes and corrections, and maintain recordsGive weld tests as neededFollow all safety rules and guidelinesResponsible for overall quality of all productsOther QA functionsENVIRONMENT & WORKING CONDITIONS:Work indoors and outdoorsPHYSICAL DEMANDS:Able to lift up to 50 lbsAble to endure climate changes (hot, cold, wet, dry)Able to work scheduled shiftsAble to bend, stoop, and climb.
