Job summary

Stoughton Trailers, LLC in Wisconsin is seeking a Quality Inspector to ensure product integrity across welded components and assemblies.

You will inspect, collect data, and maintain calibration in the Quality Inspection Area, while training others and following safety rules. The role requires reading 2D drawings, GD&T, and using gauges, with occasional travel up to 15%.

Qualifications

• Three years' experience in a quality weld inspection role.
• Experience performing weld inspection to AWS D1.1.
• Ability to read and interpret 2D drawings/blueprints.
• Proficient with GD&T and measurement tools.
• Experience with quality systems (ISO/AS) and data collection.

Responsibilities

• Inspect welded products and manufactured components per inspection plans.
• Perform inspections on materials and components from internal/external sources.
• Collect and record data using programmable measuring systems.
• Maintain calibration and training plans for inspection hardware/software.
• Assist with training inspectors and support as needed.
• Attend scheduled hours and follow company safety policies.
• Communicate findings clearly and escalate issues when necessary.

• Responsible for adherence to the Cardinal Rules of Safety


• Responsible for performing inspections on products including manufactured and purchased components


• Collecting and recording data using Programmable Measuring Systems


• Perform analytical testing within the Quality Inspection Area


• Assist with administrative duties within the Quality Inspection Area


• Maintain calibration and training plans for hardware and software within the Quality Inspection Area


• Ability to develop relationships in a highly matrixed organization, and drive teamwork cross-functionally.


• Working with minimal direction


• Ability to interpret blueprints, quality inspection plans, procedures, and work instructions.


• Perform all assigned tasks in a safe, efficient, timely, accurate and highly productive manner according to company policy


• Assist with training needs of inspectors and provide support as necessary


• Attend scheduled work hours on a regular and timely basis.


• Follow company policies and procedures


• Other tasks as assigned

  • Three years' experience in a quality weld Inspection role preferably with an active certified quality system (ISO, AS, etc.).

  • Demonstrate experience performing weld inspection to AWS D1.1
  
  
  • Ability to pass visual acuity test.
  
  
  • Capable of using general gauges (Cam Gauge, Fillet gauges, V-WAC…)
  
  
  • Quality experience with weld and sheet metal inspection
  
  
  • Experience in measurement usage
  
  
  • Experience with GD&T
  
  
  • Inspection experience using blueprints (interpretation, etc.)
  
  
  
  


• Proficient in the use of computers, Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, and windows-based programs


• Effective oral and written communications skills


• Ability to read and understand 2D drawings


• Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.


• Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions.


• Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations


• Good interpersonal skills and ability to effectively interact with people at all levels in numerous functions.
