Job summary

Komline-Sanderson, a leader in engineered capital equipment, seeks a Quality Control Inspector in New Jersey to perform incoming, in‑process, and final inspections ensuring compliance with drawings, specs, and ISO/ASME standards.

The role requires 7+ years QA/QC experience in capital equipment, hands‑on manufacturing exposure, and travel up to 30% to customer sites. You will collaborate with Manufacturing, Engineering, Purchasing, and Quality teams to drive containment and corrective actions.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a related engineering or quality field is required.
• 7+ years of QA/QC experience in capital equipment manufacturing.
• Minimum 3 years’ experience in manufacturing.
• Experience with large complex capital equipment and welding inspection.
• Travel up to 30% to customer sites.
• Hands-on manufacturing experience in welding or machine shop.
• Knowledge of ISO 9001 and ASME quality requirements.

Responsibilities

• Read and interpret mechanical, fabrication drawings, weld symbols, and GD&T.
• Generate and process NCRs for nonconforming materials and products.
• Use precision measurement equipment to verify specifications.
• Respond to production/engineering requests for inspection.
• Collaborate with Manufacturing, Engineering, Purchasing and Quality teams on corrective actions.
• Document inspections via email and ERP systems.
• Inspect welded assemblies for AWS/ASME compliance and proper procedures.
• Perform dimensional inspections of machined components; inspect control panels.
• Ensure traceability of materials and components throughout manufacturing.
• Support continuous improvement initiatives to reduce defects.

The Quality Control Inspector is responsible for performing incoming, in‑process, and final inspections to ensure materials, components, and finished equipment meet engineering drawings, customer specifications, and company quality standards. This role supports the manufacturing of engineered‑to‑order capital equipment in compliance with ISO 9001, ASME Section VIII, and other applicable industry codes and standards.

Roles And Responsibilities

• Read and interpret mechanical drawings, fabrication drawings, weld symbols, GD&T, and Bills of Material
• Generate and process Non‑Conformance Reports (NCRs) for nonconforming materials and products, ensuring proper documentation and disposition
• Use precision measurement and test equipment to make accurate measurements
• Respond quickly to production and engineering requests for inspection
• Work closely with Manufacturing, Engineering, Purchasing, and Quality personnel to investigate quality issues and support corrective actions
• Efficient communicator who is comfortable working with email and ERP systems for documentation of inspections
• Inspect welded assemblies for compliance with AWS and ASME code requirements, approved weld procedures, and engineering specifications
• Perform dimensional inspections of machined and fabricated components
• Perform electric control panel inspections for proper operations
• Verify proper identification, labeling, and traceability of materials and components throughout the manufacturing process
• Participate and support continuous improvement initiatives to reduce defects and improve manufacturing processes

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Quality, or a related field
• 7+ years of QA/QC experience in a capital equipment manufacturing environment
• Minimum 3 years’ experience in manufacturing
• Experience with large complex capital equipment
• Experience with welding inspection
• Minimum of 30% travel to customer sites
• Hands‑on manufacturing experience, particularly in welding or machine shop

Preferred Qualifications

• CWI certification
• Knowledgeable in welding, NDT, AWS/ASME codes
• Experience with welding inspection/CWI certification
• Certified or experience in ISO 9001 auditing
