Job summary

Komline-Sanderson in the United States seeks a Certified Welding Inspector to ensure welding and fabrication meet AWS/ASME/API standards across production stages. You will inspect welds, review WPS/PQRs, and witness NDT as needed.

The role requires a current AWS CWI certification and 5+ years of welding inspection experience, with strong blueprint literacy and meticulous documentation. On-site work with collaboration across teams is essential.

Qualifications

• Current AWS CWI certification is required; technical degree is a plus.
• At least 5 years of welding inspection or related fabrication experience.
• Strong knowledge of welding processes (SMAW, SMAW, STAW, FCAW, etc.).
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints, welding symbols, and technical specifications.
• Familiarity with applicable codes (AWS D1.1, ASME).

Responsibilities

• Perform visual inspections of welds, materials, and fit-up to ensure compliance with AWS, ASME, API, and project-specific standards
• Review and verify Welding Procedure Specifications (WPS), Procedure Qualification Records (PQR), and welder qualifications
• Monitor welding operations for adherence to approved procedures and safety requirements
• Coordinate and/or witness non-destructive testing
• Identify weld discontinuities and nonconformances; document findings and recommend corrective actions
• Verify material traceability, dimensions, alignment, and join preparation
• Maintain accurate inspection records, reports, and documentation in accordance with quality systems
• Communicate inspection results and quality concerns to project teams and supervisors
• Support training and development of welding team across various skill levels by providing guidance on welding techniques, code requirements, quality standards, and print reading
• Ensure compliance with company policies, industry regulations, and safety standards

About the Role: The Certified Welding Inspector is responsible for ensuring that all welding and fabrication activities meet applicable codes, standards, and project specifications. This role performs inspections throughout all phases of production and documents results to ensure compliance.
