Primary: Provide inspection and oversight of company quality control activities. Plan, monitor, control, and execute quality control functions to ensure compliance with project specifications, customer requirements, and applicable codes and standards.
Secondary: Support the Quality Control Manager as required to achieve company goals, quality objectives, and continuous improvement initiatives.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Perform quality control activities across all phases of production including receiving, welding, fabrication, painting, testing, inspection, and shipping.
- Read and interpret blueprints, engineering drawings, and specifications to ensure compliance with requirements.
- Monitor operations to verify adherence to production and quality standards and recommend process improvements where needed.
- Support document control activities, including review of engineering documentation for ASME pressure vessels such as calculations, drawings, specifications, and welding details.
- Maintain records in accordance with ASME Code and Quality Control Manual requirements, including ASME data reports and vessel documentation.
- Issue controlled documents to relevant departments and ensure obsolete documents are properly removed and disposed of.
- Receive and inspect incoming materials; prepare material inspection reports and verify Material Test Reports (MTRs) for compliance and traceability.
- Maintain material documentation including certificates, inspection reports, and traceability records.
- Coordinate with the Authorized Inspector (AI) and assist in the issuance and resolution of nonconformance reports (NCRs).
- Provide clear instructions to production personnel for repair or rework of nonconforming pressure materials.
- Prepare and complete inspection and test documentation, including travelers and hold points.
- Witness fit-up, in-process inspections, and pressure testing as required by code and project specifications.
- Support welding quality control activities including preparation, review, and maintenance of WPS, PQR, WQR, and welder qualification records.
- Monitor welder continuity and assign identification for traceability.
- Review inspection reports, radiographic films, procedures, and technician certifications (e.g., RT, PWHT).
- Prepare weld and material traceability maps.
- Inspect and control welding consumables, ensuring proper storage, handling, and usage.
- Assist in implementation and maintenance of the quality control program in accordance with ISO 9001:2015 and ASME requirements.
- Work closely with supervisors to plan, schedule, and execute quality-related activities.
- Participate in cross-functional activities including safety, quality improvement, customer service, training, and operational efficiency initiatives.
- Assist in developing and maintaining standard operating procedures and quality documentation.
- Compile and analyze quality data and prepare reports to support decision‑making and continuous improvement.
- Interface with customer auditors and inspectors to ensure compliance with specifications and successful audit outcomes.
- Support corrective action processes and ensure timely closure of identified issues.
- Exercise sound judgment within established procedures; organize work, prioritize tasks, and meet critical deadlines.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Certified Welding Inspector (CWI) certification preferred.
- Associate degree in Engineering or related field, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Certifications in coating inspection, corrosion control (e.g., NACE), or other relevant disciplines preferred.
- Minimum of one year of quality control experience in manufacturing or fabrication.
- Ongoing training in lean manufacturing, quality systems, and applicable code standards.
Skills and Competencies Required
- Proficiency in the use of inspection and measurement tools such as calipers, micrometers, gauges, and ultrasonic testing equipment.
- Ability to determine acceptance or rejection of materials and products based on specifications and standards.
- Strong ability to read and interpret blueprints, technical documents, codes, and specifications.
- Knowledge of applicable industry codes and standards including ASME, API, AWS, and NACE, with specific familiarity with ASME Sections II, V, VIII, and IX.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to interact effectively across all levels of the organization.
- Ability to participate in and facilitate meetings and work collaboratively in a team environment.
- Flexibility to work varying schedules as required by production demands.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications including Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint.
- Competence in the use of standard office and document control equipment such as computers, scanners, copiers, and printers.
