Position Summary
ReadyLIFT is seeking a detail-oriented Quality Inspector to support our manufacturing and production operations at our Ogden, Utah facility. This position is responsible for inspecting incoming raw materials, in-process components, and completed goods to ensure they meet company quality standards, engineering specifications, drawings, and customer requirements.
The Quality Inspector will work closely with Production, Manufacturing, Engineering, and Warehouse teams to identify quality concerns, document nonconforming materials, and help ensure only products meeting ReadyLIFT's quality standards move through production or are released for shipment.
Key Responsibilities
- Inspect incoming raw materials and purchased components to verify they meet required specifications and quality standards.
- Perform final inspections of completed products before they are approved for inventory or shipment.
- Conduct in-process inspections as needed throughout manufacturing and assembly operations.
- Read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, specifications, tolerances, and inspection requirements.
- Use inspection and precision measuring equipment such as calipers, micrometers, gauges, tape measures, and other applicable tools.
- Verify dimensions, finishes, weld quality, coatings, hardware, packaging, labeling, and overall workmanship as applicable.
- Identify and document defective or nonconforming materials and finished products.
- Segregate or properly identify nonconforming material to prevent unintended use or shipment.
- Communicate quality issues promptly to Production Leads, Supervisors, Engineering, and other appropriate personnel.
- Complete inspection records and maintain accurate quality documentation.
- Assist with nonconformance reports, corrective actions, and root-cause investigations when needed.
- Perform sampling inspections according to established procedures and quality requirements.
- Help identify recurring quality issues and opportunities for process improvement.
- Verify measuring and inspection equipment is in proper working condition and within calibration requirements.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe inspection area.
- Follow all company safety procedures, quality standards, and work instructions.
- Support other Quality Department activities as assigned.
Qualifications: Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED required.
- Previous experience in quality inspection, manufacturing, machining, welding, fabrication, or a related environment preferred.
- Ability to read and understand engineering drawings, blueprints, dimensions, and tolerances.
- Experience using calipers, micrometers, gauges, and other precision measuring tools preferred.
- Basic understanding of manufacturing processes and quality control principles.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to identify defects or inconsistencies.
- Basic math skills, including fractions, decimals, and measurement conversions.
- Ability to accurately document inspection results and maintain organized records.
- Good verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to work independently while also working effectively with Production, Engineering, and other departments.
- Dependable, organized, and able to manage multiple inspection priorities.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience inspecting machined, welded, fabricated, or automotive components.
- Experience in an automotive aftermarket or suspension manufacturing environment.
- Familiarity with GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing).
- Experience with quality systems, nonconformance reporting, corrective actions, or inspection documentation.
- Familiarity with ISO-based quality systems is a plus.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to stand and walk for extended periods throughout the workday.
- Ability to regularly lift and move parts or materials weighing up to 40–60 pounds.
- Ability to bend, reach, kneel, and move throughout manufacturing and warehouse areas.
- Ability to safely work around manufacturing equipment, forklifts, machining operations, welding areas, and other production activities.
- Ability to wear required personal protective equipment (PPE).
Work Environment
This position works primarily in a manufacturing and warehouse environment and will regularly interact with production, machining, welding, assembly, and shipping operations. The employee may be exposed to noise, moving equipment, metal components, oils, and other conditions typical of a manufacturing facility.
The Quality Inspector plays an important role in ensuring ReadyLIFT products meet our standards for quality, fit, function, appearance, and workmanship before reaching our customers.
