QUALITY CONTROL INSPECTOR III
Overview:
The Quality Control Inspector III is responsible for visual and dimensional inspections on manufactured parts, assemblies, and/or sub-assemblies. This role inspects parts to engineering drawings, customer purchase orders, work orders, industry standards, and specifications. The inspector may report detailed inspection accept/reject information directly to the customer with shipments.
Minimum Required Qualifications:
- Technical school diploma or equivalent combination of education and experience
- 3-5 years’ experience with Mechanical/Electronic part inspection in a manufacturing or production environment
- Experience in quality with machined/mechanical parts using GD&T interpretation, capable of programming automatic inspection with Optical Vision Systems and CMMs. Proficient with Profilometers and microscopes for visual characteristics and other measuring tools
- Knowledgeable with AS9102 FAIR documentation and inspection. Familiar with AQL, sampling methods, and traceability
- Strong verbal/written communication skills for interactions within the organization and with vendors, suppliers, customers, etc.
- Strong computer literacy, including MS Office and applicable systems, programs, and equipment
- Must be a US Citizen
Essential Responsibilities:
- Perform mechanical measurements and visual quality assessments of received, in-process, and finished goods
- Conduct 1st Piece Inspection on machined parts and product quality analysis
- Use thread gauges, GO/NO-GO plug gauges, V-Blocks, Gage Blocks, height stands, dial indicators, micrometers, and special gages for thread pitch diameter inspection
- Create spreadsheets for data collection, evaluate product history, and determine sample sizes per AQL
- Reconcile final inspection documentation for shipments
- Coordinate with source inspectors and participate in source inspection duties if needed
- Read, interpret, and understand mechanical/electronic drawings
- Approve incoming materials, in-process production, and finished products based on specifications, conducting visual and physical measurements, and rejecting non-conforming items
- Document inspection results, summarize rework and waste, and input data into quality databases
- Ensure equipment is operational and calibrated, follow operating instructions, and coordinate repairs
- Collaborate with Engineering and Operations to resolve issues and meet goals

- Complete initiatives and activities timely through effective interactions
- Maintain relationships with various departments and external partners
- Follow safety, quality, and company policies to ensure compliance
- Contribute to a positive work environment through effective communication
- Participate in meetings, improvement programs, and provide constructive feedback
- Maintain cleanliness and safety of work areas
- Perform special projects and miscellaneous tasks as assigned
- Work in both office and manufacturing environments, with exposure to fumes, moving parts, and noise
- This is a full-time role, Monday-Friday, with occasional overtime and no expected travel
Physical Requirements:
- Regularly talk and hear; specific vision abilities required, including close, distance, color, peripheral, depth perception, and focus adjustments
- Occasionally sit, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, or crouch
- May need to lift/move items up to 25 pounds
