Position Overview
We are actively recruiting a hands‑on Quality Control Inspector to join an advanced machine shop and automated assembly facility in Fremont, CA. In this critical role, you will safeguard product excellence by conducting thorough incoming inspections of raw materials and machined parts, monitoring in‑process builds, and executing comprehensive final functional and cosmetic reviews of finished goods before they are dispatched to customers.
Core Responsibilities
- Evaluate raw materials, machined components, and mechanical/electrical parts upon receipt to ensure strict compliance with technical drawings, specifications, and purchase orders.
- Conduct in‑process evaluations during the manufacturing and assembly phases to verify adherence to established workmanship standards.
- Perform meticulous final inspections on outbound shipments to confirm correct assembly, verify all components are present, and identify any cosmetic imperfections (such as scratches, dents, or cracks).
- Operate a variety of precision measuring instruments, including micrometers, calipers, pin gauges, height gauges, and optical measurement tools.
- Audit and authenticate quality paperwork, inspection logs, and Certificates of Conformance (CoC).
- Accurately document non‑conformances and material defects, reporting emerging quality trends to manufacturing and quality leadership to drive continuous improvement.
- Ensure your designated inspection area remains clean, organized, and fully compliant with ISO 9001 standards.
Required Qualifications
- A minimum of 2 years of dedicated experience as a Quality Control Inspector within a manufacturing or machine shop setting.
- Preferred background working with semiconductor equipment, precision assembly, or incoming mechanical inspection.
- Proven proficiency in reading and interpreting blueprints, complex engineering drawings, and purchase order specifications.
- Hands‑on mastery of standard precision measurement tools (calipers, micrometers, height gauges, and pin gauges).
- Exceptional attention to detail combined with a commitment to producing precise, thorough quality documentation.
- Reliable ability to commute to and work completely on‑site at the Fremont, CA facility.
Work Environment & Physical Demands
- Physical Requirements: The position requires frequent standing, walking throughout the assembly and machine shop floors, and physically handling/inspecting precision parts.
