Job summary

Sanmina Newark, California facility is seeking a detail-oriented Quality Inspector for the second shift. You will determine product acceptance through in-process and final inspections, using precision measurement devices and visual checks per drawings and workmanship standards.

You will document results, help develop inspection methods, and support calibration activities. Candidates must have at least 2 years of QA experience in mechanical manufacturing and possess GD&T knowledge.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or college courses completed.
• Minimum 2 years of quality assurance experience in mechanical manufacturing.
• Knowledge of GD&T drawings per ASME standards.
• Experience reading BOMs and customer specifications.
• Proficiency with basic inspection equipment and data analysis.
• Effective written and spoken communication; overtime availability.

Responsibilities

• Inspect metal components and electromechanical assemblies visually and dimensionally.
• Perform receiving inspections on incoming parts and materials.
• Document inspection results and non-conformances in systems and reports.
• Develop methods and procedures for quality inspection and control.

Job Purpose

Sanmina is looking for detail oriented and dedicated Quality Inspector for our second shift in our Fremont, CA location. In this role, you will be responsible for determining product acceptance both in-process and at final assembly by inspecting parts per customer drawings and workmanship standards. You will make use of monitoring and measurement devices, as well as perform visual inspection. You will document and submit the results of inspection and testing activities in both paper and electronic systems. You will determine and may assist in developing methods and procedures for quality inspection and control.

Nature Of Duties/Responsibilities

• Perform inspections to determine the quality of both metal components and electromechanical assemblies, visually and dimensionally, based upon internal and customer supplied workmanship standards and drawing specifications.
• Areas of inspection will include primarily machining, sheet metal fabrication, paint and weld, but may extend to clean room and final assembly inspection.
• Perform receiving inspection on incoming purchased components and raw materials.
• Determine and assist in developing methods and procedures for quality inspection and control.
• Apply final labels or markings as required to demonstrate product acceptance.
• Document and communicate any non-conformances identified during inspection activities.
• Perform calibration audits and support internal calibration activities
• Complete daily reports of inspection activities.
• Visual acuity and manual dexterity required.
• Ability to sit, stand, walk, bend and lift up to 50 lbs.

Education And Experience

• High School Diploma or college courses.
• Minimum of 2 years of quality assurance experience in a mechanical manufacturing environment.
• Experience as a CMM operator a plus.
• Experience with weld inspection a plus.
• Must have knowledge of GD&T drawings consistent with the latest revisions of the ASME standards.
• Experience reading and interpreting Bill of Materials (BOM), workmanship standards and customer engineering specifications
• Experience with basic inspection equipment and measurement such as, but not limited to bore gauge, caliper, micrometer, pin gauges, etc.
• Competent in word processing, spreadsheets, and data analysis.
• Effective oral and written communication skills.
• Must be flexible in regards to overtime availability and work with minimal supervision.
