Job description

POSITION SUMMARY

The Quality Control Inspector is responsible for all inspections performed to ensure compliance with approved data, Federal Aviation Regulations, the RSQCM, and data acceptable to the administrator. This is an experienced-level position with no supervisory responsibilities that reports to the Chief Inspector.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES
  1. Ensure that no defective, unserviceable, or un-airworthy parts are used on any components or articles released by Aspire.
  2. Ensure all fabricated parts are labeled and identified properly.
  3. Inspect work performed to ensure compliance.
  4. Perform receiving inspection functions as authorized and prescribed in the RSQCM.
  5. Accomplish all necessary inspections of articles maintained by the repair station to ensure overall quality of workmanship and material used in the fabrication process.
  6. Notify the Quality Control Supervisory Personnel promptly of any quality concerns and items related to airworthiness that are not resolved through normal procedures; these may be communicated by email, voice mail, or documented in the Shift Turnover Log. Ensure these concerns are addressed and tracked until resolution.
  7. Coordinate with Inspection Supervisory Personnel to determine daily inspection priorities.
  8. Demonstrate thorough familiarity with all applicable FARs, company, and customer manuals relevant to work assignments.
  9. Be familiar with all necessary tooling, inspection aids, and techniques to accomplish tasks effectively.
  10. Ensure all maintenance and alterations performed by the repair station comply with applicable technical data.
  11. When operating multiple shifts, ensure the Shift Turnover Report (PD-Form-3) communicates pertinent information and maintains continuity between shifts. Complete and file turnovers after each shift.
  12. Perform other duties as assigned.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Airframe & Power Plant license.
  • 5+ years of related heavy maintenance experience on commercial aircraft (e.g., B737, B757, B777, A330).
QUALIFICATIONS
  • FAR 145 Quality Control Maintenance knowledge or experience.

WORK ENVIRONMENT

Work is performed in indoor settings such as offices and hangars, and outdoors on runways and parking lots. Noise levels may be loud, and temperatures may vary from extreme heat to cold. Exposure to fumes, airborne particles, mechanical parts, and vibration is possible.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

Requires sitting, standing, and fine motor skills such as typing and handling small objects. May involve lifting up to 50 lbs regularly and up to 100 lbs with assistance. Vision requirements include close, peripheral, and depth perception.

TRAVEL

Occasional travel may be required (10% or less).

WORK AUTHORIZATION/SECURITY CLEARANCE

Must be authorized to work in the US without sponsorship and able to pass a DOT drug test.
