Job description

Job Description:

The Quality Control Inspector reports to the Quality Control Manager and is responsible for ensuring manufacturing processes meet the requirements specified on drawings, including applicable Codes and Standards, customer specifications, and Feldmeier Equipment SOPs.

Requirements:

Essential Minimum Duties and Responsibilities:

1. Verify incoming materials and components.
2. Use XRF for positive material identification.
3. Proficiently use calipers and tape measures for inspection of parts.
4. Ensure manufacturing complies with drawing requirements, Codes, Standards, and customer specifications.
5. Meet qualification requirements and maintain Certified Individual UM Certification.
6. Supervise welding tests as needed.
7. Verify correct build-up from drawings.
8. Verify surface finishes meet specifications.
9. Perform layout, fit-up, and final weld inspections.
10. Witness and sign off on hydrotesting of vessels and/or heat transfer surfaces.
11. Verify correct welding procedures are used.
12. Complete inspection reports and ensure travelers are correctly and accurately filled out.
13. Create ASME and non-code nameplates.
14. Perform final inspection of equipment prior to shipment.
15. Collaborate with production staff and Engineering.
16. Prepare internal Non-Conformance reports for review by the Quality Manager.
17. Communicate concerns to the Corporate Quality Assurance Manager and Plant Manager.
