Job Description

We are seeking a detail-oriented Quality Control Inspector to support our Quality Assurance team. This role is responsible for maintaining records related to the ISO 9001:2015 Quality Management System and conducting internal audits as assigned by the QA Manager. The ideal candidate will ensure compliance with quality standards and contribute to the continuous improvement of our processes.

Job Description

We are seeking a detail-oriented Quality Control Inspector to support our Quality Assurance team. This role is responsible for maintaining records related to the ISO 9001:2015 Quality Management System and conducting internal audits as assigned by the QA Manager. The ideal candidate will ensure compliance with quality standards and contribute to the continuous improvement of our processes.

Essential Job Responsibilities not limited to:

  • Maintain Quality Records
  • Check and keep C of C’s related to designed incoming materials such as steel and rubber products.
  • Oversee the calibration system to ensure all items requiring calibration are up to date.
  • Oversee and physically manage RMA materials once they have been received into the system.
  • Inspect and confirm transfers from other VMC facilities, reporting findings to supply chain.
  • Auditing
  • Provide support for IBC 17065 seismic audits
  • Random sampling of in-process products to confirm specifications through dimensional checks.
  • Where a manufactured product does not meet quality specifications, QA investigates/reports production line failures and identifies products for re-work.
  • Documents inspection results by completing reports and logs (record keeping).
  • Training
  • Perform New Employee Quality System Training for both shop and office personnel.
  • Understand SWIs sufficiently enough to give direction to new employees concerning QMS.
  • Other
  • Back-up Mechanical inspector.

Requirements

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office
  • Perform statistical analysis of RMAs, customer complaints, and in-house inspections.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints and apply knowledge to inspection of products.
  • Ability to use calipers, height gauges, thread gauges, durometers, etc.
  • Have completed an ISO internal auditor course within the first six months.

  • Excellent verbal communication skills.
  • Effective written communication abilities.
  • Strong organizational skills with the flexibility to adapt to shifting priorities.
  • Self-motivated with the ability to work independently.

Working Conditions & Physical Requirements

  • Ability to sit and work at a computer for extended periods.
  • Capable of lifting up to 25 pounds and reaching/bending to access documents in cabinets and on shelves.
  • Occasional travel may be required.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree or 2-3 years of relevant experience in Quality Assurance.
  • Experience in an ISO 9001-certified environment.
  • Bilingual in Spanish is a plus but not required.
