Job summary

Sloan is seeking a Quality Control Inspector in Andover, MA to test and inspect components and finished devices per engineering specs. You will monitor calibration, perform First Article Inspections and final product testing, and maintain inspection records in a broader quality program.

The role requires GD&T knowledge, math skills and the ability to communicate clearly in English. A high school diploma or technical training is accepted, with lifting up to 50 lbs and CAD/Excel proficiency valued.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • Gage calibration experience and GD&T layout.
  • Strong math skills and English communication.
  • Experience with Microsoft Word and Excel.
  • Experience with 3D CAD software.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
  • Mechanical aptitude with attention to detail.
  • Technical training in lieu of degree.
  • Basic knowledge of measuring instruments.

Responsibilities

  • Test and inspect components and finished devices as defined by work instructions and/or Engineering specifications.
  • Report non-conformances.
  • Monitor critical equipment and instrumentation to ensure proper operation and calibration.
  • Inspect / test production components and subassemblies in accordance with procedures, specifications, and mechanical drawings.
  • Perform First Article Inspections
  • Perform final product inspection and test.
  • Maintain Calibration program. This includes monitoring/tracking critical equipment and instrumentation for all departments to ensure proper operation and calibration, coordinate with outside calibration house, maintain records, perform in house calibrations and maintain records.
  • Maintain and post inspection results in quality inspection database.
  • Assist in writing and updating inspection procedures, protocol, and checklists.
  • Assist shipping department by receiving parts after normal hours.
  • Communicate with vendors on material certifications.
  • Participate in root cause analysis team with Engineering Team and report on findings.
  • Other duties and responsibilities as required.

About the Role:

There is an immediate need for aQuality Control Inspectorbased out of ourAndover, MA office that will report to our Quality Manager. The Quality Control Inspector will be responsible for testing and inspecting components and finished devices as defined by work instructions and/or engineering specifications. What we're looking for:
  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • Gage Calibration.
  • Layout Inspection using GD&T.
  • Basic math skills.
  • Demonstrates clear, professional, and respectful verbal and written communication in all interactions, consistent with an inclusive work environment.
  • General experience working with Microsoft Word.
  • General experience working with 3D CAD software.
  • General experience working with Microsoft Excel.
  • Capable of lifting 50lbs.
  • Mechanical aptitude.
  • Must have the ability to effectively communicate in English including reading, writing, speaking and listening.
  • Technical training required in lieu of Associates Degree.
  • Working knowledge of measuring instruments such as CNC Video measuring systems, calipers, comparator, DMM, Pin Gage, Force Gage, Drop indicator, Surface Tester, gage blocks, depth gage, Durometer, and thread gages.
A plus, but not required:
  • Associate Degree.
  • General experience working with SAP ERP Business System.
  • Knowledge of power tool such as a drill press.

Compensation:

The compensation range for this U.S.-based position is $54,346.16 - $60,382.40 annually.

This position is eligible to participate in the company incentive plan. The terms and conditions of the company incentive plan will be provided to plan participants on an annual basis.

Our compensation range reflects our good faith estimate of what an ideal candidate can expect, but final agreed upon compensation will always be based on the individual candidate’s experience, skills, qualifications, and other job-related or market factors that may prove relevant during the hiring process.
