Job summary

Bob's Discount Furniture in Aberdeen, MD is seeking a Quality Control Inspector to perform real-time opening, inspections, and disposition of REF Inspect Returns merchandise. You will take digital photos and document issues for the Returns/QC team.

You will reference SAP/RP data and follow the opening/re-wrap procedures to securely package items for disposition, while supporting End of Day tasks and reporting trends to the QC Lead or Manager.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent experience in a Warehouse atmosphere.
• Ability to multi-task and manage competing priorities.
• Detail oriented and accurate; ability to diagnose trends in product damages.

Responsibilities

• Open, inspect, and re-wrap REF Inspect Returns merchandise according to documented procedures.
• Disposition merchandise to RTS, CLR, TRASH, or REPAIR based on condition and codes.
• Take digital photos and document findings to support reporting within Returns/QC.
• Relocate merchandise to appropriate locations and communicate issues to Leads.
• Support End of Day tasks and assist QC Lead/Manager as needed.
• Identify trends in damages and escalate to leadership for action.

Job Title

Quality Control Inspector

Job Overview

The Quality Control Inspector is responsible for real time opening, inspections, disposition and re-wrapping of all REF Inspect Returns merchandise. The Quality Control Inspector reports issues to the QC Inspection Lead or QC Manager for documentation, and researches customer account comments and information in SAP and RP. This role supports the QC Inspection Lead or QC Manager to ensure all End of Day (EOD) tasks are completed. Other responsibilities include:

• Confirm systemic resting location of merchandise and note lock code.
• Confirm systemic reason code of merchandise to aid in disposition.
• Use REF Inspect Report to gain additional systemic information to aid in disposition.
• Using documented opening procedure, open packaging and inspect merchandise.
• Using all available systemic information and physical condition of merchandise, disposition to RTS, CLR, TRASH, REPAIR.
• Using documented opening and re-wrap procedure, fully package and secure merchandise for handling.
• Systemically relocate merchandise to new appropriate location.
• Take digital photos to support reporting measure within Return/QC department.
• Material Handling merchandise to and from floor location throughout shift as needed.
• Communicate with Returns/QC Lead and other Returns management staff to identify issues.
• Recognize trends and patterns in merchandise damages and report to Lead.
• All other duties as assigned.

• Starting hourly pay at $17.00 - $19.00/hour (Based on experience).

Minimum Qualifications

Physical Demands
