Job summary

Gilbane Building is seeking a Quality Control II to manage QC processes for a pharmaceutical construction project in Wisconsin. This role emphasizes ensuring compliance with design documents, coordinating with subcontractors, and documenting material testing and inspections.

The ideal candidate has a background in engineering or construction management, significant QC leadership experience, and proficiency with MS Word and Excel.

Qualifications

  • BS or MS degree in Engineering, Architecture or Construction Management.
  • 7 years construction experience; 2 years as QC Manager.
  • Strong Microsoft Word and Excel user.

Responsibilities

  • Assure all project-related work plans and project-specific documents necessary for performing project QC activities are onsite.
  • Review subcontractor quality plans for compliance to requirements.
  • Inspect work conformance to contract and design documents.
  • Understand drawings and specifications.
  • Implement the Three Phase Control System.
  • Develop daily quality control reports, prepare and issue detailed meeting minutes, and assist with post construction reports.
  • Use Submittal Register to track and assure required materials are approved in a timely manner.
  • Coordinate, witness, and document 3rd Party testing, special inspections, and commissioning of building systems.

Responsibilities


  • Assure all project-related work plans and project-specific documents necessary for performing project QC activities are onsite

  • Review subcontractor quality plans for compliance to requirements

  • Inspect work conformance to contract and design documents

  • Understand drawings and specifications

  • Implement the Three Phase Control System

  • Develop daily quality control reports, prepare and issue detailed meeting minutes, and assist with post construction reports

  • Use Submittal Register to track and assure required materials are approved in a timely manner.

  • Manage in-depth technical reviews of submittals against design documents

  • Proactively initiate deficiencies and non-conformances documentation, and monitor and verify corrective actions

  • Stop work if necessary to resolve matters that affect safety, quality or non-compliance with design documents

  • Verify materials received are same as those identified in approved submittals and complete material receipt inspection checklists

  • Coordinate, witness, and document 3rd Party testing, special inspections, and commissioning of building systems

  • Document all tests and results

  • Coordinate and document completion inspection process

  • Manage a timely project closeout to include compilation and turnover of all required documents

  • Coaches and mentors less experienced team members

  • Supports a positive and inclusive work environment


Qualifications


  • BS OR MS degree in Engineering, Architecture or Construction Management

  • 7 years construction experience; 2 years as QC Manager

  • Strong Microsoft Word and Excel user

  • Or equivalent combination of education and experience

  • Strong verbal and written skills

  • Ability to work in a team environment
