Job summary

Gilbane Building Company is seeking a Quality Control Manager to lead all QC staff, processes and activities for a large pharmaceutical project in Kenosha, WI. You will establish, implement, and enforce QC plans, ensuring design conformity and timely submittal reviews.

Qualifications

  • BS degree in Engineering, Architecture or Construction Management (ideal).
  • Minimum 10 years construction experience, highly prefer 4 as QC Manager.
  • Or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Responsibilities

  • Interface in a professional manner with client representatives and subcontractors.
  • Review designs and provide feedback to designers.
  • Manage in-depth technical reviews of submittals against design documents and manage submittal review and approval status through submittal register.
  • Implement the requirements of the approved QC Plan, assuring all required records are generated and managed.
  • Identify deficiencies and non-conformances, prepare documentation, and monitor and verify corrective actions.
  • Stop work if necessary to resolve non-compliant work or safety concerns.
  • Coordinate and document commissioning and formal completion inspections.
  • Manage timely project closeout including turnover of required documents.
  • Train direct reports on processes, procedures, and daily tasks.
  • Manage workload and performance of direct reports, ensuring alignment with company standards.
  • Foster a positive, inclusive work environment to motivate and engage the team.

  • Fosters a positive and inclusive work environment to motivate and engage team members.
  • Aids in communicating company and department strategy to direct reports.
  • Collaborates closely with business development to ensure seamless integration with sales strategies including performance metrics on your assigned projects, pursuits, and client deliverables. Actively participates in opportunities to strengthen client, partner, and industry relationships that position Gilbane as the "Builder of Choice".
Qualifications

EXPERIENCE/EDUCATION

  • BS degree in Engineering, Architecture or Construction Management ideal
  • Minimum 10 years construction experience, highly prefer 4 as QC Manager
  • Or equivalent combination of education and experience
