Job summary

Mazzella is seeking a quality inspector to ensure the overall quality of manufactured products in our Westlake, OH facility. You will develop standard inspection processes, interpret fabrication drawings, use metrology tools, and verify materials meet shop drawings and AWS standards.

You will document results, support calibration and nonconforming parts processes, and collaborate with supervisors, welders, and machinists to resolve issues.

Qualifications

• Ability to read fabrication and machining drawings.
• Experience with metrology tools (micrometers, calipers, height gauges, thread gauges, hardness tester, laser alignment).
• Ensure raw materials meet shop drawings.
• Designate acceptance/rejection of machined, welded and outsourced components.
• Interface with area supervisors, machinists, and welders to coordinate repairs/replacements.
• Perform visual inspection of weldments per AWS standards.
• Oversee UT/PT/MT testing performed by others.
• Test and measure finished components for crane assembly per specs.
• Document inspection activities/results and prepare inspection reports.
• Support quality systems including document control, calibration, nonconforming parts process, CAR, management review, and internal auditing.
• Assist management to address non-conformances and ensure inspections/audits are completed.

Responsibilities

• Maintain and use metrology equipment for inspections.
• Verify materials against shop drawings and AWS standards.
• Document inspection results and generate reports.
• Collaborate with supervisors, machinists, and welders to resolve defects.
• Support calibration and internal audits within quality systems.
• Assist with emergency action planning and site preparedness.
