Tutor Perini Corporation seeks a Quality Control Engineer for the California High Speed Rail CP-1 project office in Fresno, CA. The role requires inspecting submittals, materials, and tests to ensure compliance with contract specs.

The project emphasizes safety, quality, and timely delivery on a major civil infrastructure program. Ideal candidates have 5+ years in heavy civil construction QC/inspection, familiarity with US standards, and certifications (ACI or similar) are a plus.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• 5+ years of experience in support of heavy civil construction testing, inspection, supervision or management on large public works.
• Familiarity with US construction standards and codes.
• Understanding of contract specs as they apply to quality control/assurance (preferred).
• Experience with Microsoft Office (preferred).
• ACI or other industry certifications (preferred).

Responsibilities

• Inspect to contract specifications the quality of concrete mix designs, construction submittals, testing procedures, etc.
• Inspect concrete steel reinforcement and form work on bridges, decks, beams, box culverts, columns, footings, utilities and roadways.
• Develop understanding/working knowledge of the quality control program and company standards.
• Perform inspections and witness tests to determine acceptability of work.
• Maintain inspection and related records; ensure document accuracy.
• Assist in preparing/implementing QC procedures and inspection instructions.
• Coordinate QC inspection schedules with other departments.
• Participate in internal/external QC audits.
• Review purchase documents for QC compliance.
• Perform additional assignments as directed.
