Requires a Bachelor's degree in civil engineering and 5+ years in design-build or heavy civil construction QC/inspection. ACI certification is preferred.

Qualifications

• 5+ years in design-build or heavy civil construction testing/inspection.
• 5+ years in QC/inspection across concrete, piling, rebar, etc.
• Familiarity with contract specifications related to QC/QA.
• ACI or related certifications preferred.

Responsibilities

• Develop understanding of the company quality control program and standards.
• Perform inspections and witness tests to determine acceptability.
• Maintain inspection and performance records; ensure document accuracy.
• Prepare/implement QC procedures, inspections and test equipment control.
• Coordinate QC inspection schedules with other departments.
• Participate in internal/external QC audits.
• Review purchase documents for QC compliance.
• Perform additional tasks as directed by supervisor.

Tutor Perini Corporation is seeking a Quality Control Engineer to join our Honolulu Authority for Rapid Transportation (HART) project in Honolulu, HI.

Tutor Perini is the general contractor for the HART City Center Guideway and Stations project. The scope of the approximately $1.66 billion contract includes the design and construction of six rail stations and approximately three miles of elevated rail guideway beginning just east of the Middle Street Transit Center Station and ending at the Civic Center Station, which will be located just east of the intersection of Halekauwila Street and South Street in downtown Honolulu. Project design is expected to begin immediately while construction is estimated to commence in the second half of 2025. Construction of this segment is expected to be substantially completed in 2030.

DESCRIPTION

• Inspect to contract specifications the assigned discipline;
• Develop understanding/working knowledge of company quality control program, company standards, procedures, codes, etc. required to perform assigned work
• Perform inspections and witness tests applicable to discipline to determine acceptability of work
• Assist in maintaining work performance records, inspection records and other related items; assure correctness of all documents
• Preparation/implementation of quality control procedures, i.e., inspection instructions, control measuring and test equipment, etc.
• Coordinating quality control inspection schedules with other department schedules.
• Participate in internal/external quality control audits
• Assist in reviewing purchase documents to ensure compliance with quality control requirements
• Perform additional assignments per supervisor's direction

REQUIREMENTS

• Bachelor's degree in civil engineering or similar
• 5 or more years of experience in support of design-build or heavy civil construction testing, inspection, supervision or management in support of large public works projects
• 5 or more years of quality control, inspection experience one or more of the project disciplines, to include Concrete, piling, rebar, structural, earthwork, electrical, etc.
• Strong understanding and experience with contract specifications as they apply to quality control and/or assurance
• Experience with Microsoft Office (preferred)
• ACI or other industry related certifications (preferred)
