Job summary

Tutor Perini Corporation is seeking a Quality Control Engineer for the Fresno, CA office to support the California High Speed Rail CP-1 project. You will inspect concrete, reinforcement, and formwork per contract specifications, assist with QC procedures, and help maintain inspection records.

The role requires a high school diploma or GED, 5+ years in heavy civil construction QA/QC, knowledge of US standards, and preferred certifications (ACI). Proficiency with Microsoft Office is desirable.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• 5+ years in heavy civil construction testing, inspection, supervision or management on large public works projects.
• Experience with U.S. construction standards and codes.
• Understanding of contract specifications as they apply to quality control/assurance (preferred).
• Experience with Microsoft Office (preferred).
• ACI or other industry certifications (preferred).

Responsibilities

• Inspect to contract specifications the quality of concrete mix designs, construction submittals, testing procedures, etc.
• Inspect concrete, steel reinforcement and formwork on bridge decks, beams, box culverts, columns, footings, utilities and roadways.
• Develop understanding of the quality control program, company standards, procedures, codes, etc.
• Perform inspections and witness tests to determine acceptability of work.
• Assist in maintaining inspection records and other related items; ensure document correctness.
• Assist in preparing/implementing QC procedures and inspection instructions.
• Assist in coordinating QC inspection schedules with other department schedules.
• Participate in internal/external QC audits.
• Assist in reviewing purchase documents for QC compliance.
• Perform additional assignments per supervisor's direction.
