In this role, you will operate Coordinate Measuring Machines (CMM) to perform high-precision dimensional inspections on custom metal components and assemblies. You will work closely with both quality and production teams to verify part compliance against blueprints, CAD models, and GD&T specifications—ensuring only top-tier products leave our shop.

Responsibilities

Key Responsibilities

• CMM Operation: Program, calibrate, and operate manual or CNC CMM equipment to execute precision dimensional checks on fabricated metal parts.
• Blueprint & CAD Analysis: Interpret technical engineering drawings, CAD files, and GD&T specifications to plan measurement setups.
• Data & Non-Conformance Reporting: Log accurate inspection records, identify dimensional deviations, and collaborate with production to resolve quality issues.
• Equipment Maintenance: Perform routine maintenance, setup, and troubleshooting for CMM machines and related quality inspection tools.
• Continuous Improvement: Participate in team efforts to refine quality standards, lower defect rates, and enhance fabrication workflows.

Qualifications

• Experience: 2+ years operating CMM equipment within a metal fabrication or industrial manufacturing setting.
• Technical Skills: High proficiency in CMM software, GD&T application, and reading complex blueprints/CAD models.
• Education: High school diploma or equivalent required; technical certification or associate degree in manufacturing/engineering preferred.
• Physical Requirements: Ability to stand for prolonged periods, work in a shop environment (noise/dust), and lift up to 100 lbs.
