Job summary

Permobil, Inc. is hiring a Quality Control Clerk in Belleville, IL. The role focuses on running correct product boxes, correct etching, label verification, and final product acceptance to maintain quality standards.

Shift is 1st shift, full-time with a 5:30am–4:00pm schedule. The candidate should have a High School diploma or GED (or equivalent experience) and strong reading/comprehension, with basic computer and data-entry skills.

Qualifications

• Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating instructions, and procedures.
• Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.
• Basic personal computer skills and data entry capability.
• Planning/Organization: Prioritize tasks and handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
• Certificates/Licenses/Registrations: Narrow aisle training; pallet jack training.

Responsibilities

• Maintain a high-quality product by running correct boxes and accessories and final acceptance of product.
• Maintain labels, etching program, and print/verify labels for accuracy.
• Manage inventory cues and report cover/accessory levels to supervisor.
• Document processes according to good manufacturing practices.
• Communicate with Inventory and Packaging teams to keep operations efficient.
• Operate machinery safely and report hazards per safety policies.

Your Role in Our Mission

• Job Purpose: To maintain a high-quality product by accurately running product boxes and accessories, etch product with the correct etching program, pulling and scanning cover, verifying labels and accessories, and final acceptance of product.

• Maintains quality product by: Running correct boxes and accessories. Ensuring inventory is at acceptable levels. Maintaining the label printer. Ensure proper etching program is in use for the product being run. Pulling and scanning correct covers, verifying labels, and completing final acceptance of product.

• Manages inventory by: Maintain scrap report of packaging materials and accessories. Reporting cover and accessory level to ATL or manager.

• Maintains product records by: Maintains scrap report. Verify the labels are correct and the product is ready for final acceptance. Completes work order for the appropriate step in the process. Follows good manufacturing documentation practices.

• Supports operations by: Communicating with Inventory and Packaging teams to keep operations efficient, segregating incomplete packaging products, and diagnosing packaging product failures to allow for reporting and trend analysis.

• Maintains safe and clean work environment by: Operating all machinery in a safe and efficient manner; reporting any safety hazards to assigned supervisor or safety manager; complying with all safety and quality policies, practices, and procedures.

• Maintain quality service by: Keeping error rates minimal and within acceptable ranges; maintaining an efficient work pace, meeting and exceeding all performance measurements: quantity, accuracy, timeliness, and thoroughness of work performed.

• Contributes to team effort by: Filling in for other QA department job duties as necessary, maintaining a good attendance record, accomplishing related results as needed.

• Maintains technical knowledge by: Attending educational workshops, and training.

• Highlight cross-functional collaboration and ownership.

• Emphasize continuous improvement and efficiency.

What You'll Bring

• High School diploma or GED preferred or 0+ years previous relevant experience.

• Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present information one on one and small group situations to customers, clients, and/or other employees of the organization. Ability to recognize similarities and differences between series of numbers.

• Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.

• Basic personal computer skills. (Turn computer on and run one or two programs that are company specific and only require data entry skills)

• Planning/Organization: Prioritize tasks. Handle multiple tasks simultaneously.

• Certificates/Licenses/Registrations: Narrow aisle training; pallet jack training

• Promptness and good attendance are essential to the smooth function of this position and department; ability to develop and maintain working relationships with coworkers; ability to define and solve minor problems within one's own work and with coworkers.

Pay Transparency

The expected pay range for this role is $17.00 - $17.50 per hour. Final compensation will depend on factors such as experience, skills, and internal equity.
