Job summary

ADVICS Manufacturing Ohio inc. is seeking a quality inspector to test and inspect components and assemblies across levels of complexity. You will read engineering documents, perform various tests, respond to Andon calls, and record data to evaluate product quality.

Strong attention to detail, ability to work in a team, and basic math and computer skills are required. A high school diploma or GED and 6 months to 1 year related experience are typical qualifications; SPC experience is preferred.

Job description

GENERAL PURPOSE OF JOB: Tests and inspects components and products at all levels of complexity and difficulty. Evaluates statistical data to determine quality and reliability of products and processes.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned: Interprets Engineering drawings, schematics and formulas to determine acceptability of components or process. Performs various types of tests, such as performance tests, dimensional inspections, mechanical tests, etc. Respond to Andon calls to support the manufacturing floor. Records and analyzes data. Prepares and understands charts and graphs. Performs cleanup activities at designated times. Participates in improvement activities. Promotes teamwork and Company policies within the Q.C. department, and on the manufacturing floor.

QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE: High school diploma or general education degree (G.E.D.); six months to one-year experience of related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Experience with general inspection techniques. LANGUAGE SKILLS: Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of the organization.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS: Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret graphs.

REASONING ABILITY: Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to follow and carry out instructions in written, oral, or diagram form.

OTHER SKILLS and ABILITIES: Must be able to function in a team environment by working with, and cooperating with others. Must be able to clearly communicate in both written and oral forms with others. Strong data recording ability, analysis skills, computer skills, and Statistical Processes Control experience preferred.

The noise level in the work environment varies from moderate to loud.
