The position also manages defect reporting and identifies defect-prone processes to proactively implement corrective actions. Additionally, the role supports customer/supplier alignment and continuous quality improvement across operations.

The position also manages defect reporting and identifies defect-prone processes to proactively implement corrective actions. Additionally, the role supports customer/supplier alignment and continuous quality improvement across operations.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

(To perform within this position successfully, the incumbent must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Other duties may be assigned.)

  • Quality Control and Assurance:
    • Ensure accurate documentation of quality processes, including control plans, work instructions, and special characteristics management aligned with updated FMEA.
    • Lead product validation activities to ensure compliance with quality and regulatory requirements.
    • Collaborate in developing quality documentation, ensuring clarity, compliance, and adherence to industry standards.
    • Monitor product quality, repairs, workmanship, labeling, and part allocation to ensure adherence to established standards.
    • Oversee torque audits using SPC tools and Torque Auditor systems to maintain process control and compliance.
    • Prepare and present daily, monthly, and annual quality reports, including performance metrics and trend analysis to support management decisions.
  • Defect Analysis & Continuous Improvement
    • Perform in-depth analysis of defect phenomena using appropriate tools and equipment to identify true root causes.
    • Utilize inspection equipment, measurement systems, and analytical tools to validate findings and support corrective actions.
    • Drive fundamental, data-driven improvement activities based on analysis results to prevent recurrence.
    • Organize and document defect analysis results and provide structured periodic reporting to leadership.
    • Proactively identify defect-prone processes through inspections, audits, and data analysis, and initiate targeted improvement actions.
  • Data Analysis and Trend Tracking:
    • Utilize data analysis techniques to track trends, identify risks, and recommend proactive corrective actions.
    • Identify patterns in quality performance metrics and implement preventive measures to reduce recurrence.
  • Reliability Test Management (BSA Reliability)
    • Manage and monitor periodic BSA reliability testing activities to ensure completion in accordance with internal standards and customer requirements.
    • Ensure timely completion of reliability validation activities for customer requirements, 4M changes, and ISIR submissions.
    • Develop and maintain reliability test schedules and ensure adherence to validation timelines.
    • Coordinate customer approvals related to reliability validation, 4M changes, and ISIR documentation.
    • Support new product development, validation builds, and engineering change activities through reliability testing and analysis.
  • 5-S Standards Maintenance:
    • Ensure compliance with 5-S standards within the Quality Control Department to maintain organized, efficient, and safe working environments.
  • Performance Management and Oversight:
    • Make critical, time-sensitive decisions during assigned shifts to ensure operational efficiency and quality compliance.
  • Communication and Collaboration:
    • Communicate effectively with cross-functional teams and management on quality, safety, and operational issues.
    • Foster collaboration to resolve issues and drive continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Safety and Compliance:
    • Ensure and promote adherence to workplace safety standards and company policies.
  • Additional Responsibilities:
    • Support the development of company policies, operating procedures, and organizational goals.
    • Contribute to cross-functional process improvement teams, help implement improvement plans and assess the effectiveness of quality initiatives.
    • Coordinate and conduct supplier audits for qualifications or process changes to ensure alignment with quality standards.
    • Perform other duties as required

This role operates within defined corporate policies and procedures and exercises judgment appropriate to its level of responsibility. The position may influence decisions related to functional operations, processes, or recommendations and accelerate matters as required

Qualifications

Required Education & Experience
  • Bachelor's degree in a related field, preferably in Quality Management, Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a similar discipline.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in a relevant area, with a strong preference for expertise in data analysis, quality control, quality assurance, mechanical, electrical, or manufacturing sectors.
Required Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities
  • Strong knowledge of Quality Management Systems (QMS), including implementation, maintenance, and internal/supplier auditing.
  • Proficient in data analysis with the ability to interpret trends, evaluate quality metrics, and drive data-based improvements.
  • Experience with SPC, Six Sigma methodologies (Green/Black Belt preferred), and core quality tools for process control and optimization.
  • Strong problem-solving skills with demonstrated ability to perform root cause analysis and implement effective corrective actions.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to clearly convey technical information to diverse audiences.
  • Proven leadership capability with experience guiding cross-functional teams and driving accountability.
  • Ability to operate effectively in a fast-paced environment, manage competing priorities, and maintain attention to detail.
  • Strong decision-making and critical thinking skills, including the ability to act decisively under pressure.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word) for analysis, reporting, and presentation.
  • Solid mechanical aptitude and understanding of manufacturing processes.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints and specifications, including GD&T.
  • Strong knowledge of reliability testing methodologies, validation planning, and product qualification requirements.
  • Experience managing reliability test schedules, test reports, and validation documentation.
  • Knowledge of automotive reliability requirements, customer specifications, and validation processes.
Preferred Education And Experience
  • Working knowledge of Six Sigma (Black/Green Belt).
