Job summary

Mr. Greens Produce in Houston seeks a Quality Control technician to help ensure product quality and accurate inventory in a fast-paced distribution operation.

You will perform visual inspections, monitor stock levels, participate in cycle counting, and support warehouse compliance with GMP, OSHA, and safety procedures in a refrigerated environment. Strong computer skills, forklift experience, and the ability to lift up to 50 pounds are required.

Qualifications

• Proficiency with using computers and managing emails.
• Experience in Food Service/Produce preferred.
• Demonstrated oral and written communication skills.
• Electric forklift experience.
• Basic math skills.
• Must be able to work in a refrigerated climate (40 to -15 degrees).
• Must be willing and able to lift up to 50 pounds.

Responsibilities

• Checks goods for quality and quantity; selects proper procedure for storage, supervises rotating of stock as required; issues material and supplies.
• Checks vendor deliveries against requisitions and purchase orders to ensure accuracy; responds to all inquiries concerning the inventory and warehouse.
• Knowledge of detailed inventory record keeping practices and procedures.
• Monitoring current inventory levels
• Performing physical count of inventory
• Follow Cycle Count processes and procedures.
• Keeping management informed including reviewing and analyzing reports, summarizing information, and identifying trends.
• Keeping a safe and clean working environment by enforcing compliance with all applicable procedures, GMP’s, OSHA, preventive controls, and other rules in the facility.
• Perform visual inspection of product to meet certain specification.
• Reconcile actual stock count.

Overview:

Mr. Greens has proudly grown into one of the largest privately-owned produce distributors in Florida. With deliveries 365 days a year, 7 days a week and multiple runs per day, Mr. Greens has set the gold standard for service. Mr. Greens serves a large variety of clients, including restaurants, hotels, country clubs, caterers, grocery stores and retail outlets.

Accountabilities:
