Job summary

Flex-N-Gate in Louisiana is seeking a Quality CMM Operator to create inspection programs for coordinate measuring machines and ensure the machines function correctly during programming scripts and tests.

You will calibrate gauges, maintain fixtures, support PPAP activities for new products, and work with project engineers to improve processes through data-driven analysis.

Qualifications

• 2-4 years’ experience in CMM programming and Polyworks scanning.
• Strong GD&T knowledge and ability to interpret drawings.
• Excellent mathematical ability and analytical skills.
• Detail oriented with strong problem solving and troubleshooting.
• Good communication and organizational skills.

Responsibilities

• Assist Project Engineers with reverse engineering and inspection plan development.
• Calibrate and document all CMM equipment.
• Maintain CMM fixtures and perform annual layouts.
• Contribute to PPAP activities for new products.
• Conduct R&R and capability studies; perform statistical analysis.
• Maintain customer relations and project prioritization.

Summary

The Quality CMM Operators role is to create inspection programs for coordinate measuring machines and to ensure the machine is properly working throughout programming scripts and tests. The incumbent is responsible for Gauge control and Gauge calibration.

Job Duties

• Responsible for assisting Project Engineers with reverse engineering, production support and development of inspection plans.
• Calibrations of all equipment and record keeping of such equipment.
• Calibration, maintenance and repair of all CMM fixtures.
• Annual layouts
• Responsible for the dimensional part of doing a PPAP on a new product.
• R&R studies
• Capability studies
• Statistical analysis
• Customer relations

Requirements

• High School Diploma or equivalent
• 2-4 years’ work experience in related field with CMM programming and Polyworks scanning preferred.
• Extensive mathematical knowledge
• Knowledge of basic computer hardware and applications software.
• Detailed working knowledge of GD&T and drawing interpretation required
• Strong organizational skills.
• Strong communication skills (both verbal and written).
• Proficiency with database applications and administration systems, specifically Microsoft Office.
• Ability to work effectively alone and prioritize.
• Must be a highly motivated, service and team-oriented individual with an attention to detail.
• Enthusiasm for challenge and new initiatives are prerequisites.
