Job summary

Chromalox seeks a Calibration Quality Technician to manage calibration and testing equipment inventory. Under the Quality Manager, you calibrate, adjust, troubleshoot, and repair instruments, ensuring operability and traceability.

The Role:

Under the supervision of the Quality
Manager the Calibration Quality Technician manages and maintains the inventory
of calibrated testing and measuring equipment. Maintaining the equipment is
archived by calibrating, adjusting, replacing, troubleshoots and conducting
minor repairs. The role also requires monitoring the performance of the
equipment and ensuring the appropriate equipment is always available. The
Calibration Quality Technician will be responsible for maintaining all records
and documents associated with calibration and performance of the equipment
within the GageTrak system.

Your Responsibilities:

  • Calibrates, adjusts, troubleshoots and repairs test and measurement equipment.
  • Conducts audits and routine performance checks to ensure equipment is functioning properly and maintained effectively.
  • Develop improvement plans and processes to ensure the appropriate equipment is always available for the job.
  • Understand the tests that are conducted and the required equipment to conduct those tests.
  • Train end users on proper use and maintenance of the equipment.
  • Manage the Gagetrack system and ensure all essential documents and test records can be provided for review.
  • Order replacement equipment and parts ensuring tools and equipment are available for use.
  • Conduct testing of parts and products as needed.
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as blueprints, work orders, etc.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by management
  • May be required to cross train and demonstrate competency in all essential job functions of the department working at different workstations as production needs require.
  • Establishing and maintaining interpersonal relationships; training and teaching others.
  • Maintenance of a clean and orderly work area free of excess materials.
  • Support and involvement in company, department, and/or safety policies, procedures, programs, and activities.

Requirements:

  • Experience using mechanical test equipment, calipers, micrometers, pin gages, height gages, surface plates, etc.
  • Functional knowledge and experience with CMMs and other inspection tools.
  • Experience with Electrical test equipment, ohmmeters, fluk meters, resistance testers, voltage testers.
  • Basic electrical theory of voltage, resistance, wattage, etc.
  • Ability to read and understand blue prints, drawings and technical manuals
  • Ability to manage a large inventory of unique items
