Description
Overview: As a Calibration/Inspector, you will be responsible for supporting the implementation and maintenance of the Quality Management System (QMS) in accordance with ISO 9001:2015 standards. You will play a vital role in conducting maintenance of the calibration program, calibration of equipment (if applicable), quality inspections, performing tests, and analyzing data to ensure compliance with quality standards and specifications.
Key Responsibilities:
- Calibration and Maintenance (No Supervision)
- Maintain and update as needed the calibration database to ensure accurate records are being maintained.
- Calibration and maintenance of inspection equipment, handheld tools, and measuring instruments to ensure accuracy and reliability, as needed.
- Schedule and perform routine maintenance of calibrated equipment.
- Coordinate with external calibration service providers when necessary.
- Prepare and maintain calibration schedules and logs.
- Quality Inspections (No Supervision):
- Conduct visual and dimensional inspections of in-process components and finished products to ensure compliance with quality specifications.
- Utilize measuring instruments, gauges, and equipment to perform inspections and verify product conformity.
- Functional testing of handheld extinguishers to UL requirements.
- Identify and document any non-conformities, defects, or discrepancies in products and materials.
- Perform product testing and analysis according to established procedures and test plans.
- Collect samples and conduct various tests, including mechanical, electrical, and chemical tests, to assess product performance and quality.
- Analyze test results and data to identify trends, deviations, and opportunities for improvement.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of inspection results, test data, and quality documentation.
- Communicate quality issues and discrepancies to appropriate stakeholders and assist in implementing corrective actions.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent; Associate degree or technical certification in a related field is preferred.
- Minimum of 1-2 years of experience in calibration, preferably in an ISO 9001:2015 certified facility is preferred.
- Experience with a variety of calibration equipment and tools.
- Previous experience in a quality assurance or inspection role, preferably in a manufacturing or production environment.
- Knowledge of ISO 9001:2015 quality management system requirements and quality assurance principles preferred.
- Proficiency in conducting quality inspections, tests, and measurements using various tools and equipment preferred.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy in data collection and documentation.
- Effective communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Self-starter with experience in a fast-paced environment preferred.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
- Proficiency in MS Office applications and basic computer skills.
- Perform other duties as assigned by Supervisor.
