Job summary

SQA Services, Inc. in Los Angeles / Orange County area is seeking a Quality Cable & Harness Inspector. This flexible role supports on-demand inspection requests, averaging 3–5 days per week, with on-site work at client locations.

The candidate should have a strong background in cable and harness inspection, experience with IPC‑A‑620, and the ability to read schematics and preparation of Certificates of Conformance. Excellent documentation and communication skills are essential.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of cable and harness assembly methods.
• Familiar with IPC-A-620 standards.
• Minimum 3 years of experience as a Cable and Harness Inspector/Assembler in electronic manufacturing or related fields.
• Ability to read schematics, assembly drawings, and identify wiring components.
• Proficient in documenting Certificates of Conformance (COC).
• Strong organizational, communication, and software adaptation skills.

Responsibilities

• Perform first-article, in-process, and final inspections at one or more client suppliers.
• Ensure products meet quality and specification standards.
• Verify safety wire orientation, correct turns, and pigtails as per specifications.
• Confirm shipping documentation is legible and accurate (part number, serial number, etc.).
• Check documentation packages to industry standards and classify defects.
• Interpret manufacturing drawings and identifying non-conformances.
• Periodically verify accuracy and ensure productivity to meet production schedules.
• Maintain equipment and keep the work area organized.

This is a flexible, full-time or part-time role, averaging 3- 5 days per week, on an as-needed basis. Where inspectors may accept or decline individual inspection requests.

Preferred Qualifications

• Certified or previously certified in IPC-A-620
• Diploma or GED from an accredited high school or technical school; college degree in engineering
• Knowledge of electronic contract manufacturing and LEAN manufacturing
• Preferred: 5 years of experience, with 2 years as a Cable and Harness Inspector

$32 - $35 an hour
