Job summary

DeWys Manufacturing in Marne, MI is seeking a Quality Auditor to spot issues early, help operators understand requirements, and partner with Production to get parts right the first time. In this hands‑on role you’ll move across the production floor performing inspections and process audits, recording results, and communicating findings to the Quality team to prevent defects.

You’ll use calipers and height gauges, read blueprints, and support ISO 9001 quality records and continuous improvement

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints, drawings, dimensions, tolerances, and technical instructions.
• Experience using precision measuring equipment, such as calipers, height gauges, and other inspection tools.
• Strong attention to detail and the confidence to speak up when something does not meet requirements.
• Clear communication skills and a helpful, respectful approach to working with production teams.
• Basic computer skills, including Microsoft Word and Excel.

Responsibilities

• Perform first-piece, last-piece, and in-process inspections to verify parts meet drawings, specifications, and customer requirements.
• Inspect critical dimensions, welds, hole locations, finishes, and other required features using appropriate measuring tools and gauges.
• Conduct scheduled and unscheduled audits to verify that production teams are following drawings, work instructions, inspection requirements, and quality procedures.
• Record inspection results accurately and communicate findings to operators, supervisors, and the Quality team.
• Identify and document nonconforming product, help ensure it is properly contained, and reinspect reworked parts as needed.
• Provide hands‑on guidance to operators on drawings, tolerances, inspection methods, and customer‑specific quality requirements.
• Help identify recurring issues and training needs, and participate in corrective action and continuous improvement activities.
• Support accurate quality records and the requirements of our ISO 9001 Quality Management System.
