DeWys Manufacturing in Marne, MI is seeking a Quality Auditor to spot issues early, assist operators with requirements, and partner with Production to get parts right the first time.

In this hands-on role on the shop floor, you’ll perform inspections, conduct process audits, and document findings to support ISO 9001 and continuous improvement.

The ideal candidate reads blueprints, uses calipers and height gauges, and communicates clearly with teams while upholding quality standards.

Qualifications

• Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, dimensions and tolerances.
• Experience using precision measuring equipment and inspection methods.
• Strong attention to detail and clear communication on the shop floor.
• Familiarity with ISO 9001 quality management practices.

Responsibilities

• Perform first-piece, last-piece, and in-process inspections to verify parts meet drawings and customer requirements.
• Inspect critical dimensions, welds, hole locations, finishes and other features using gauges.
• Conduct scheduled and unscheduled audits to ensure compliance with instructions and procedures.
• Record inspection results accurately and communicate findings to teams.
• Identify nonconforming product, contain it, and reinspect reworked parts.
• Guide operators on drawings, tolerances, inspection methods, and quality requirements.
• Support corrective action and continuous improvement activities.
• Maintain quality records in line with ISO 9001 standards.

Quality Auditor

At DeWys Manufacturing, quality is built into the work we do every day. We’re looking for a Quality Auditor who can spot issues early, help operators understand requirements, and partner with Production to get parts right the first time.

In this hands-on role, you’ll move throughout the production floor performing inspections and process audits. You’ll be a resource to operators and supervisors, helping prevent defects before products reach the next operation or our customers.

What You’ll Do

• Perform first-piece, last-piece, and in-process inspections to verify parts meet drawings, specifications, and customer requirements.
• Inspect critical dimensions, welds, hole locations, finishes, and other required features using appropriate measuring tools and gauges.
• Conduct scheduled and unscheduled audits to verify that production teams are following drawings, work instructions, inspection requirements, and quality procedures.
• Record inspection results accurately and communicate findings to operators, supervisors, and the Quality team.
• Identify and document nonconforming product, help ensure it is properly contained, and reinspect reworked parts as needed.
• Provide hands-on guidance to operators on drawings, tolerances, inspection methods, and customer-specific quality requirements.
• Help identify recurring issues and training needs, and participate in corrective action and continuous improvement activities.
• Support accurate quality records and the requirements of our ISO 9001 Quality Management System.

What You’ll Bring

• A high school diploma or equivalent.
• The ability to read and interpret blueprints, drawings, dimensions, tolerances, and technical instructions.
• Experience using precision measuring equipment, such as calipers, height gauges, and other inspection tools.
• Strong attention to detail and the confidence to speak up when something does not meet requirements.
• Clear communication skills and a helpful, respectful approach to working with production teams.
• Basic computer skills, including Microsoft Word and Excel.

Previous quality inspection experience, sheet metal fabrication experience, or familiarity with ISO 9001 is preferred.
