Summary

Record and report on quality data from production operations within the facility on a continual/scheduled basis. This is a 1st shift position currently, subject to seniority bargaining rights.

Responsibilities
Primary Responsibilities
  • Ability to recognize substandard product and document.
  • Use notification methods set for information on quality issues to the appropriate personnel.
  • Make frequent daily “rounds” plant-wide to predetermined locations and processes.
  • Conduct multiple quality or AIB observations at various locations throughout the facility and grounds as needed.
  • Record and report on quality as noted in plant process procedures and work instructions.
  • Report on all accidents, incidents, injuries, and near misses.
  • Forestry Chain of Custody (COC).
  • Operate pallet jack.
  • Maintain plant organization and housekeeping, including the proper segregation and accounting of non-conforming material, and implementing corrective actions as required.
Qualifications

• Ability to read and interpret information, furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills with strong interpersonal, teambuilding, and leadership skills.
• Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of variables and implement solutions to correct.
• Must be detail-oriented, organized, and energetic.

Working Conditions

Exposure to:

  • Manufacturing plant environment.
  • Stand on feet for more than 8 hours, pull and lift carton cases.
  • High noise levels; hearing protection is provided.
  • Hot and cold temperatures.

Skills and Abilities

Education and/or Experience: High school diploma or general education degree (GED) is needed along with reasonable experience.

Language Skills: Must have ability to verbally communicate, read, and write in English to respond to regulatory compliance issues and common inquiries from all employees.

Mathematical Skills: Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division.

Reasoning Ability: Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions. Ability to recognize PPE and/or personal safety needs at specific locations throughout the plant.

Certificates, Licenses, Registrations: No additional certificates required.
