The Business System Team under the System & Administration Bureau is looking for an Administrative Assistant 2 position to serve on the Quality Assurance Testing Team. This position will identify and investigate operational problems, recommend corrective action, provide advice on system enhancements and upgrades, test software against specifications, and conduct regression testing to ensure baseline functionality remains stable. It will assist with developing complex improvements to the Motor Vehicle Division’s operating systems for Driver Licensing and Sanctions, Vehicle Registration, Plates and Titling, and Motor Carrier Fuel Tax, Registration, and Permitting Systems. Additionally, this role will monitor the inventory of records access, create, modify, and terminate access for system users.

This position requires a motivated individual eager to learn our current business processes and system functionalities to provide accurate guidance supporting essential IT changes and troubleshooting issues with the operating systems for front-line staff.

Location: 5310 SE Convenience Blvd, Ankeny, Iowa 50021, flexible

Shift: 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM, Monday through Friday, flexible

Your Responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:

  1. Providing assistance with program operations and participating as a member of special teams to advise on changes.
  2. Serving as the contact for information management system issues, gathering facts, collecting data, identifying solutions, and documenting findings.
  3. Monitoring and implementing system access guidelines to ensure only qualified applicants have access, maintaining compliance with federal and state standards.
  4. Developing and executing testing procedures, coordinating with project teams and management for monthly code moves, overseeing testing, and ensuring proper reporting and implementation of changes.
  5. Providing technical support and troubleshooting for operating systems for front-line staff.
  6. Managing system access to ensure driver/vehicle data and personal information are secure and accessible only to authorized users per specific agreements (28E, MOU, or DPPA).

Special Requirements: This position is covered under the REAL ID Act of 2005, 49 U.S.C. § 30301 note, as defined in 6 CFR Part 37.
