We’re seeking a Senior Manual QA Tester for a long-term contract supporting a QA team within the enterprise-level Telecommunications industry. This is a fully remote position, but candidates must be able to work Pacific Standard Time (PST) hours. The ideal candidate is proactive, experienced, and capable of supporting the QA team and acting as a liaison in the absence of the QA lead.
What You’ll Do:
- Serve as the primary QA contact in meetings when the QA lead is unavailable, engaging confidently with developers, project managers, and stakeholders.
- Take detailed notes, extract action items, and communicate outcomes effectively to the QA team.
- Help enforce and improve QA processes, standards, and best practices.
- Support and mentor other testers as the first point of escalation.
- Drive test coverage, velocity, and efficient execution.
- Collaborate with team leads to meet deadlines and quality benchmarks.
- Participate in requirement reviews, test planning, case execution, defect management, and regression testing.
- Foster a culture of ownership, accountability, and quality delivery.
What We’re Looking For:
- 5+ years of manual QA experience, preferably in Agile/Scrum environments.
- Strong communication skills and confidence in cross-functional meetings.
- Experience with test case documentation, bug reporting, and defect tracking.
- Understanding of QA processes, SDLC, and best practices.
- Ability to take initiative, mentor peers, and lead processes.
- Comfortable working independently in a remote, fast-paced environment.
- Located in the U.S. and available to work full PST business hours.
Nice to Have:
- Experience with test management tools like TestRail, Zephyr, etc.
- Familiarity with JIRA or similar issue tracking systems.
- Manual API or database testing experience.
