JBS USA Food Company is seeking a QA Technician I on the 2nd shift to monitor food safety and quality programs across production and USDA interfaces. The role focuses on ensuring compliance with company standards and federal regulations throughout the production process.

Responsibilities include inspections, data collection, and collaboration with production teams to maintain product quality and safety. Candidates should be able to work on the ground in a fast-paced plant environment.

Responsibilities

• Monitor SOPs, SSOPs, GMPs, and HACCP programs to ensure compliance.
• Perform HACCP procedures per federal regulations.
• Conduct pre-shipment inspections of products and trailers, including lifting/opening boxes, scanning products, and printing labels.
• Maintain communication with USDA personnel and provide records as requested.
• Review quality and food safety records for accuracy and completeness.
• Assist QA Supervisors with data collection, investigations, and special projects.
• Collaborate with Shipping and Production to monitor product specs and address deficiencies.
• Identify problems, propose solutions, and work with minimal supervision.
• Monitor production floor QA procedures and report/correct deficiencies.
• Perform visual pre-operational inspections of equipment and lines.
• Collect lab samples and verify fat-to-lean ratios and temperatures.
• Audit weights, seals, codes, and labeling accuracy.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

QA Technician I - 2nd Shift

The QA Technician I is responsible for monitoring food safety and quality programs to ensure compliance with company standards and federal regulations. This position works closely with production, shipping, and USDA personnel to maintain product quality and food safety throughout the production process.

Essential Job Responsibilities

• Monitor compliance with SOPs, SSOPs, GMPs, and HACCP programs.
• Perform HACCP procedures in accordance with federal regulations.
• Conduct pre-shipment inspections of products and trailers, including lifting and opening boxes, scanning products, and printing labels.
• Maintain communication with USDA personnel and provide records as requested.
• Review quality and food safety records to ensure accuracy and completeness.
• Assist QA Supervisors and Management with data collection, investigations, and special projects.
• Work closely with Shipping and Production teams to monitor product specifications and address deficiencies.
• Identify problems, recommend solutions, and work independently with minimal supervision.
• Monitor food safety and quality procedures on the production floor; identify, report, and correct deficiencies.
• Perform visual pre-operational inspections of equipment, machinery, and processing lines.
• Collect laboratory samples and verify fat-to-lean ratios and product temperatures.
• Audit product weights, package seals, code dates, and labeling accuracy.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Work Environment & Physical Requirements

• Extended periods of walking and standing.
• Regular exposure to cold and freezing production environments.
• Ability to lift, open, and inspect product boxes as required.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

Schedule

• Primarily supports production operations on the Ground Beef production floor.
• Typical shift is 8.5 hours or longer.
• Work schedule may include 5 to 6 days per week based on business needs.
• Start and end times may vary depending on production requirements.
• Employees may be asked to adjust schedules, trade shifts, or work outside normal hours to support operational needs.
