Job summary

Silgan Containers in Kingsport, TN is seeking a quality-focused Manufacturing Technician to identify GMP/food safety concerns, inspect processes, and ensure product conformance to specifications. You will read prints, calculate measurements, document results, and communicate with shift leads while adhering to safety and quality standards.

The role requires a High School Diploma or GED, about 1 year in manufacturing, strong math and writing abilities, and good teamwork.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• 1 year manufacturing experience preferred.
• Strong mathematical ability and attention to detail.
• Good written and verbal communications required.

Responsibilities

• Identify and react to GMP, HACCP, and food safety concerns.
• Inspect process and product to ensure conformance to specifications.
• Follow GMP requirements and maintain product integrity.
• Read prints for measurements and perform calculations as needed.
• Communicate with supervisor and shift personnel.
• Create and maintain documentation per procedures.
• Visually inspect/audit products to meet visual quality standards.
• Understand sampling size and frequency for testing; perform duties per instructions.
